Megan- If it's an ad insert(between 2 pages) then it is a subscription issue of the magazine. If it is an ad within the magazine the is the newstand issue. The ad in the new AutoWeek sounds like an insert so it would be just the subscription issues

OK all you ad collectors, here's a little tip for you. Last week or so I mailed in a postcard to get a free issue of Stuff magazine. Since they periodically had MINI ads I thought "why not?" and I figured my husband wouldn't mind either. Anyway, my free issue came today and between pages 72 and 73 was the new MINI ad!! So here's my recomendation- Go to the Stuff Magazine website and order the sample issue. Because it's still early they should send you the April 2005 issue. I've done this before with Men's Fitness and Outside but don't wait, do it now! As you may get the May issue if you wait too long to order.
PS Just do the -bill me later- thing... that way you can see if you really want the magazine!:smile:

 

Anne - thanks for the fantastic tip! You all are SO good at finding this stuff out. Don't keep us in suspense though, what ad is in the magazine?????

Donna- Sorry for the confusion... the ad is the same one that you got in AutoWeek. It's in the April 2005 issue of STUFF magazine-subscription issue but this tip works with any new ad as long as you order the issue as soon as it comes out -wait too long and you may get the following month...which might not have an ad!!!

 

No MINI ads in the April subscription issue of Esquire

 

Don't do what I did!!! I ordered the March 05 issue of MotorCyclist mag and guess what- no MINI ad!! Maybe they ran out of the subscription issues Can you believe it?!!!

No new ad in the March 24th issue of RS either

 

No ads in the April 2005 issue of Maxim

 

Sorry annes, no mags when I went into the cycle shop the other weekend. I told my dad to make sure they don't throw out the old copies anymore.

It's also my understanding that the Gasaholic ad is in Playboy- I'm not sure if its the March or April issue and I don't know what pages- The guy who brought me the ad at work seemed a little embarassed that he had to tell me what magazine it came from and then when I quized him as to issue and pages, I think it was overwhelming! I thought he really might lose it when I asked if he had any old issues to see if there were any more ads-but he said he had given them away-yeah right!!

 

Weird, there actually is a picture for that ad. I don't remember where I found the image (since mine is still sealed), but it's on the list at libraryofmotoring.info/miniprintads.html.

I have the New Yorker issue with the last ad on the list, I'll scan it and update the list this weekend.

Currently the ads are listed in chronological order from when they first appeared. However, I'm thinking of grouping all of the series together, starting from when the first ad of the series appeared. For example, there is the series of the ads where objects get smaller through time (mobile phones, cameras, and computers) which are currently not listed consecutively. Should I move the cameras and computers ads up following the [Mobile Phones with MINI Ad]?

Also, the list is getting pretty long. Should I split it into two pages, starting with all of the Convertible ads?

From now on, I'm going to list the new ads added since the last update in orange. (Thanks Susan for the suggestion.)
