Hey there everyone up north. A group of us will be traveling on an epic road trip in mid june 2010.

Just wanted to see if there were any Mini's along our route.

Here is the thread on nemini.

That looks like an interesting trip, and one to remember.

Will you be passing through Calgary, Alberta at all? We'd love to meet up with ya.

Lol, that trip would out-epic my own personal epic round about solo trip across the USA back in October for my 30th. http://www.mapquest.com/mq/8-69MJCoNgkT713Ji8oJxd From VA to CA and back. Hit Mt. Rushmore and the Grand Canyon along the way. I've still been to lazy to post any pictures or video of that trip on here but all I can say is make sure you plan enough time and money. Those were the two most important things for me.

I haven;t decided 100% on my route yet. If I go straght by directions door-to-door, it would bring me into Canada via North Dakota into Winnipeg. Then west across Saskatchewan, and then through Edmonton.

I would however like to travel through Montana. Perhaps then head north through Calgary...

Have you thought of making a MINI dealership a stop a long the way? I was thinking about getting my routine maintenance done while I was out on the road at a MINI spot but I lucked out and MoA did a complete service before I left. Then again, I'm still under warranty.

I'll be doing a complete inspection and service myself before I leave. I went through the same checksheet before my x-country road trip last summer.

Right now, my list includes;
-oil change (as close to departure as apossible)
-seafoam oil treatment (a little before oil change is done)
-Replace coolant (possibly add some water wetter)
-check brake pads (Have spare sets to take with me just in case)
-Mount summer wheels/tires (bringing jacks along for rotations)
-check all fluids
-visually inspect belt
-CRC CV boots
-Grease all suspension components
-T9 for coilovers, control arms, and endlinks

That's all I can think of for now.

Nice, nice. Don't forget to check your tires! My right front was wearing down on my way back.

Indeed! I have my summer rims and tires waiting to go. I have new tires to be mounted as I'm pretty much done with the ones on there. Currently have 215/40/17 RT-615s, but bought 215/24/17 to replace them with, in anticipation of the trip. Figure a little extra meat wouldn't hurt considereing the roads/hazards I could encounter on such a voyage.
