You make me blush. Thank you Rick. I LOVE IR, have a roll in my Pentax K1000 right now. And I have to promote Wales any way I can. IR is indeed a pain, you either love or hate it, but everyone should give it a shot (silly pun) I'm working on IR pix of my Mini now. I've added alot of exterior chrome since I got him so the next should have alot of sparkle.
Happy Hump Day, PB

I've got one. Show me a digital camera with a depth of field preview button / lever! It's rare even on 35mm cameras these days. For you youngins that control would close a open aperture metering cameras' lens to the set aperture thus letting you actually see how far to the front and back of your focus point will be sharp at the shooting aperture.

I love digital and film with each having their uses. But grew up on film cameras and for some things I'll prefer film for a long time at least.

I've yet to see a digital B&W camera & printing combo that can compare to the tones of low speed B&W film and printing.

For each job the appropriate tool.

The camera has its own, but the battery is toast so I'll try to get a new one. There were also three handheld analog lightmeters with the camera, so I can try those also. Thanks for the advice.

And ParrishBlue, that shot is simply stunning!

Most of the Nikon DSLR cameras have a depth-of-field button. In particular, the D70, D70s, D80, D100, D200, D1 series, D2 series, S2 Pro, S3 Pro and the Pro SLR/n. In short, pretty much all of them except the D40 and D50.

I don't know about Canon, but I'd be surprised if they didn't offer DOF on most of their DSLRs as well.

My Canon 30D DSLR has a depth of field preview button that is very easy to use.

My AE1 has the preview, which I love. Guess its time to get out the 300pg manual for the digital Rebel and see if its got one.

Yep, the Rebel, Rebel XT, and XTi all have a DOF button. It's on the front of the camera, below the lens-release button. (I got curious after confessing my Canon ignorance in my earlier post.)

So I finished a 12 exposure roll of 200 color film and the shots turned out OK.

Last night, I finished a 24exp roll of 100 film but I had issues with it. One, I had to respool the film onto the takeup wheel and second, I muffed up the rewind process and did it by hand, in very low light, outside the camera.:impatient The film actually came out of the cartridge.

I am not expecting much from the second roll.
