Newbie Mac Question/iPhoto

Okay,
Why does iPhoto open on it's own when I insert a CF card into the reader? Since I don't use iPhoto, I'd like to be able to defeat this action.
Thanks!
Jim

There is an application called Image Capture. Launch it and look in its preferences. You'll find the setting there.

Hmmm. I opened Image Capture and get a message "No image Capture Devices Connected".
Thanks, 'tho

Okay.... go to Image Capture. It will pop up the message "no image capture devices connected"... you've found this out. Just ignore that message and go to the menu "Image Capture". Under there go to preferences. Under preferences you can designate the program you want to open when you insert a card. Click save. All done.

Hope that helps.

Rich has it right. After you open Image Capture you need to look at the top of the screen. Drag down the menu under Image Capture and select preferences. In the general settings you will be able to choose an application to auto open when you enter your card, or you can have nothing happen. Hope you get it.

Some things actually have answers and those questions are easy. Try asking what wax is best or what tires and wheels you should use and see what kind of BLAM you get. <G>

The bottom line is that we're glad to help.

Yeah I know what you mean. I've been around here long enough to know NOT to ask those kind of questions.
After all, isn't that why there's a "Search" funtion!
Thanks Again!
