NAM Monthly Photo Contest :: February

This is the second installment of the monthly photo contest on NAM. We're trying to encourage members to go out and shoot *new* photos for the contest.

Follow this link for the: Rules & Submission instructions Only photos submitted to the contest gallery will be entered into the contest. Do not post your photos to this thread.

This Month's topic:

Night Adventure

Interpret that how you will, keeping in mind that the photos must be MINI related and that only one photo per member per month may be submitted.

Ahhh, time to break out the tripod again. You're evil you know that? You Californians don't know what its like to stand around outside for hours in the middle of February in places that actually get winter.

Yeah, having grown up in Colorado, I did think about that. Bundle up and curse my name under your breath while you're shooting. Maybe the fact that you get real weather will be an advantage for you and something you can draw on.

The only advantage we've got here over California is trees without any leaves, which could possibly be pretty cool. Theres no other visual signs of winter though, snow only lasts a couple hours. Oh well, I'm used to the cold since I valet outdoors 3 or 4 nights a week.

-35 eh? I can imagine what the wind chill was like!
For some reason your photo reminds me of "Blair Witch Project."
<twilight zone jingle>a MINI appearing in a 1999 flick?</jingle ends>

This Night Adventure challenge is gonna be fun. There should be a lot of cool images.

Any chance you'll let me post some of the older ones I've done for this? I really don't have the time to shoot this month. Between travelling each week and moving, I'm not going to shoot next until Hawaii in March.

Hafid,

Being understanding of all the travel you've been doing lately, it's acceptable for you to submit a photo that was shot before the contest.

That said, for others entering the contest, if at all possible, please try to get out and shoot something new. Part of the purpose of this contest is to get us all out and shooting something new each month with a subject in mind.

Just a reminder, this is the last weekend before the contest deadline (February 25th). I was hoping to take some pictures for the contest but it looks like it's going to be raining here.

Ya got any idea how hard on the fingers it is to just get this
I'm still going to go out,but if it stays at -25F at night,I'm going to submit whatever.I want this to carry on,so I'm going to submit regardless of the conditions I have to shot in

It's been raining or foggy here every night since I washed my car to take the shots. I need a @#%*(! clear night to take the shot I want... but now my car is getting too dirty again, and its still raining.

Hopefully I'll be able to get some new shots... I need to win this competition!

Kyle,

I'm in the same soggy boat. It looks like things are going to clear up here on Tuesday night, which should be about perfect timing. I'm hoping for clear skys on Wednesday.

Well I figured since I've got one really nice night shot I'd get off my lazy butt and contend with My guys (Hafid & Tuls) there seems to be some stiff competition! Think I need to drink a whole pot-o-coffee and take some more pics. :D
