I am considering a purchase of this model. I've researched the model so know the general pros/cons; however, as you all know, most folks who post about products have a tendency to do so to complain more than rave about it. I'm looking for more balanced reviews and most folks on NAM seem to do just that - give more balanced reviews. So, I ask of users of this product, what are your opinions of both its strengths and weaknesses based on your experience? For those of you WITHOUT moonroofs, where have you found to be ideal places inside to mount your GoPros and what attachments have you found to be the best? Will the suction cups work effectively on the dashboard?

I've had each of the GoPro Cameras and by far the 3 is the best and easiest to use. I mount mine on the roll bar, but many customers have made parts to mount it off the passenger headrest.

I will have them for sale at MOTD if you want one.

 

I have had one for a little while, its the first one I have owned, and pretty happy with it so far. . . I have noticed a few quirks, I love the blue tooth and the phone app... makes it very simple to change all the settings in the menu - preview shows what the camera view is... however it sucks power really bad, and will at times just turn off the camera. Battery life in general is crappy, I got the extra battery pack which helped, but still not really impressive. I tried running it wired to the cig lighter with the battery pack attached and it seemed to overheat a little and again shut down till it cooled off- probably would have been better to use it wired without the aux battery attached... still learning. . . lol

I doubt the suction will work on the dash as it needs a smooth surface... I have tried it on the windshield and it tucks up behind the mirror pretty well and I didnt have any issues with it vision wise... I also have a mount on the license plate that is mounted using the tow hook spot - works really well ...rock solid
