thinking about spraying between the lines.

Ok so here goes, I did some recent work to my vehicle with the over used and talked about plastidip. the result and reaction from my co-wokers were more than i thought they would be and i explained how it work and if they thought of something else i could do to the vehicle without over doing it. and what me and a few others came up with were painting between the bonnet stripes with the flat black plastidip and removing the stripes all together.

here's my prgoress so far, and if there's someone who can paintshop well and would like to do an example of the result for me i'd be greatful.

ideas:
1. paint between the lines (keeping the hood scoop red)
2. remove the stripes and paint the new ones in their place
3. paint between the lines (including the hood scoop)

regardless the stripes gotta go eventually, they are worn and not recoverable.

Why????? It seems plati-dip is a big trend that is totally wrong. I understand it is cheap, reversible and durable, but it is not right on a MINI, maybe on a Pontiac Sunfire or Chev Cavalier

Heck why not, go crazy. It's only plasti-dip. I wish it would come in more colors so I can whip up some fancy templates for my roof and change it out every month or so. It would keep things interesting.

Also, this is sort of the wrong forum for this question. Try 2nd Gen MINI > Modifications > Int/Ext

plasti-dipping wheels are fine, but there are surface imperfections on body panels that don't look right. Looks like primer. If you're going for the frozen look, do a vinyl wrap.

After using and failing with cans. I went out and bought a cheap spray gun. All you need is the dip in non spray form, $25 spray gun, industrial thinner, small air compressor and practice. You can order custom colors from online if needed. Everywhere I read it said 40/60 mix but I did 30%
Dip 70% thinner. You can spray really thin for an excellent finish it just takes more coats. I've done all my trim and my wheels. I was thinking of spraying my hood between the stripes and down the front bumper. Ill post pics when I do it. Here's some pics and a video I posted.
