Photoshop Request - Stripes
Photoshop Request - Stripes
Hey All,
I have Photoshop3, but don't know how to create the layers necessary to make stripes on this MCS, that I am currently building to custom order

I really really like the offset stripes on the Laurels, but did not want to look like a fake Laurel, so I wanted to play around with the Laurel Stripe layout on the above MCS, but modify the colors of the stripes to make it less-laurel-rip-off looking.
Anyone that can point me the right direction as far as what PS3 tools, and skills I need to learn to do so? Then I'm sure I could google it and learn how to do it. Or if anyone can do the layers w/o much effort, I can backwards engineer.
Thanks All!

well. if I did it I would
1. open the picture in photoshop (right click - copy picture, then in PS ctrl+n, enter, then ctl+v)
2. create new layer. make sure it is on top of the main picture
3. draw the stripes with the lasso tool (the trapezoidal one)
4. dump color in the shape
5. use hue/saturation to change color
6. probably make it just a bit transparent to get the lines of the car underneath given its color.
i know... doesnt help much lol

Suggestion:
your stripe layers should be set instead of "Normal" to "Multiply", which will allow the car's natural shadows to come through the color, making them look more believable, (especially that bright red stripe).

Thanks,
Appreciate you doing that!
That looks better than mine :| hahaha
I really do like the look of these offset stripes. I just might do it, if so I will make sure to post pics back in this MINI Camera and Video Section.
Actually finalizing the build/order process this week for my 2011 MCS. So playing around with stripes will give me something to do for the next 6-7 weeks while I wait for my car to arrive

The finished product
So I ended up striping the car myself (with the help of my brother)...neither of us had done it before, but it was pretty easy, just taking your time and using some blue painters tape to help line things up...so here is what she looks like now.
