NAM - Mini Photo Challenge game!!!
23. Your MINI and rust. I have been taking pictures of abandoned bridges and buildings, and rusty old trucks, for example.
Question: does this mean I don't compete this time? Is the deadline July 19th, midnight?

Holy smokes Batman, been 2 weeks?!?!
If I was not disqualified because I won last time, these were what I was thinking of. Just as well, can't decide which one.

So you can pick this one, and since there was only one entry before the deadline, it should be easy
Before posting the next challenge, I have a suggestion to help improve the momentum of the thread. Just a slight adjustment to the rules, please review and provide feedback!
1) Instead of waiting 2 weeks for each challenge, suggest that the FIRST person to respond with an approved entry wins. Acceptance/approval of the entry is at the sole discretion of the person who issued that challenge.
2) If nobody provides a winning response within 1 week, then the person who issued the challenge MUST perform the challenge and post the photo, then issue a new challenge.
This should speed up the pace a bit.
Thoughts?

Okay, we will continue with the original rules for now.
NEXT CHALLENGE: Your MINI and a flag
As the Olympics have just begun, let's show some support for our athletes! This challenge will end at the conclusion of the closing ceremonies on Aug 12th.

Hi JackMac,
Just letting you know I went on a rant in another thread. This is the best part:
Poll // Photo Contest // July 2012 "WAVE" makes me think I'm the only decent photographer on this site. I commend the other person for entering, even if it's a phone camera snapshot, they at least entered something! Why are there only TWO entries?
Since I am not into the Olympics, I may pass on this one. That is the official photo contest, and I wish there was something that resembled a competition.
I will be back..................

Overall I thought it worked quite well. Over about a six month period I think we generated around 120 entries.
The problem I ran into is that some folks didn't realize that posting an extremely difficult (impossible?) challenge would just lead to no one participating. It works best if folks understand the goal is to get people to go out and take some pictures and to do so, the subject/challenge needs to be something that is reasonably "do-able".
If the challenge was too hard, no one would post and then if the original poster forgot to meet the challenge themselves to prove it could be done, the contest would fall into limbo. So I had to step in a few times to get it back on track when that happened.
We also kept a running tally - 1 point for being first to meet the challenge. You lost a point if you could not perform your own challenge after it sat for a week. That helped keep interest somewhat as people tried to move up the leaderboard.
Before posting the next challenge, figured I would post an updated list of what has been done to date:
- MINI modified to perform a public service in some way
- MINI with a view of the mountains
- MINI with a farm critter
- MINI in front of a famous landmark
- MINI under neon lights
- MINI with a professional stadium/arena

- MINI with water
- MINI in the forest/with a wooded area
- MINI with surroundings same color as the MINI
- MINI near, on or under a bridge
- MINI with a person doing a handstand or someone planking on an object
- MINI with a drive-in theater or restaurant

Don't know if previous winners are supposed to take over. You don't want that.
