That would really have to come across in the picture somehow. I'm not even sure how that would be done. I'm not going to say "no" but it's going to be difficult to make it convincing that the photo is "on topic" and not just a nice photo of some random MINI.
Having participated in a self-portrait project on Flickr, I became accustomed to certain guidelines.
Here is what thousands of photographers from around the world abided by:
On What Photos Are Allowed
What counts as a self portrait?
The main thing is that you are both the photographer and the subject. For the purposes of this group, any photo which you took that contains any part of your body counts. Photos of things that are 'very important to you' are fine, as long as part of your body is included within the frame. Taking a photo of your daily planner, your desk, your child, etc. with a detailed explanation about how it's an extension of your body does not count as a self portrait and will be removed from the pool.
What about photos of shadows, footprints in the sand/snow, and reflections?
It was decided early on that shots of your shadow, impressions left in sand or snow, and reflections on surfaces such as a faucet or even a mirror are acceptable forms of self portraits. However, anybody making a habit of these kinds of self portraits will be reviewed and removed from the group if they are found to be doing a 365 Day Shadow project (or anything along those lines).
What about taking a shot of an old photo?
If you would like to show off an older photo of you for one of your 365 Days shots, please ensure that part of your body today is included in the shot. For instance, a shot of you holding the old photo is acceptable. A shot of an old photo in a frame on your desk is not allowed.
What assistance is allowed?
You can use tripods, timers, or whatever else you need just as long as you take a photo yourself. There is great debate as to whether having another person push the button for you is cheating or not. If you feel that having a 'glorified remote' is acceptable, please bare in mind that if that person makes any calls as to positioning in the frame or does anything else aside from pushing the button, you're losing a lot of what a self portrait is. And by all means, if you do decide to use someone to push the button for you, you shouldn't make an announcement about it in the description of your photo. If you feel that they need to be mentioned because they deserve credit too, then your photo most definitely is not a self portrait.

As I stated above, these are but guidelines on another site, not here on NAM. You can take them with a grain of salt or keep them in mind in assisting what direction you wish to pursue.
