And here I thought brake dust was an asbestos-like material.

I'm just trying my idea out. Since I know so many are afraid of getting their MINI dirty, here's what it looks like.

Dirt, sunset, and a SHINY CLEAN MINI. What'd you have it towed out there? lol.
I'm not afraid of dirt roads, I took a very very long drive through some very rough gravel roads a few weekends back.

Yes, that is my MINI. (No, this is not my submission)

That might explain how he got the great motion blur worked into that photo too.

Here's my bet on the photo staging....

1) tow a MINI out onto the dirt road in an enclosed trailer.
2) mount a camera to the side of the car
3) call a tow truck to slowly tow the car (like walking pace)
4) wait for sunset
5) open the camera shutter for about 5 seconds (yeah, motion blur and a clean MINI on a dirt road)
6) snap a second photo with the car at speed
7) photochomp
8) photochomp some more
9) go show of composite image in the detailing forum and mess with everyone's minds.

Cool MaxN Style self portrait

Now I'm more than familar with that volume of dirt on the boot, but how close where you following the MINIs trough the desert?

I know exactly what I want to do, the trouble is finding the proper place to execute it while traveling.

That's exactly the photo I was thinking of when I proposed this topic to Leslie.

All right, who showed Kurt how to pull off motion photos!?! I'm in deep doo-doo this month if this is just his learning exercise.

Yeah, but we all know that Kurt would rather willingly contract the avian bird flu virus than to have to use photochomp.
Plus, after looking at several of Kurt's photos at full resolution, I've realized that his technologically advanced camera must have some ultra secret car detection dust and dirt removal algorithms in it. I can't find this setting on any of my smancy cameras which always fully reveal just how filthy my car is.

Leslie, do you realize that the next two month's contest topics can continue with this elements theme... Water, Earth (dirt), Fire (flame thrower exhaust? Fireball Tim stuff?), and Air (clouds?)
