HELP! Photoshop noob!!!
HELP! Photoshop noob!!!
Can anyone point me in the direction of some good...but most importantly, FREE...tutorials for Photoshop CS2 Version 9.0.2?
I usually grasp new programs like a tadpole in water, but I'm having a heck of a time wrapping my brain around this program!

www.good-tutorials.com thats where I learned alot of what I know.
Let me rephrase my initial request...
The ONLY thing I've successfully done so far is this:
File>New>OK
I haven't been able to do anything else...

I went to the website you suggested...clicked on the "Basics" category...and even though I'm up to the 10th page, I still haven't come across anything that will help me.
I need a "Photoshop for Dummies" tutorial...literally!
Skip the "dummies" series if you can.
Pick up CS2 classroom in a book. It will be a good $35 investment if you're just starting out and are serious about learning photoshop. Sorry as I realize that's not free, but a good book is probably necessary for you at this point.

I just read the reviews at the link you provided...so I'm going to see if the local library system has a copy. If not, I'll just lay down the $$$ and buy it. The fact that it comes with an interactive CD for training is a big plus!
Checking the local library is a good idea. You could also try haggling with the local bookstore if they have this book since it's for a discontinued version of PS, therefore they need to clean their shelves out of such obsolete information, etc. My grandfather used to ask the produce manager "how much you want for these old rotten bananas?" to score a deal.
The CD isn't all that interactive, but has all of the images from the lessons on it which is helpful for you to follow along with.
