Zero Post!

I've often heard 90% of what makes a digital photo is what's initally captured in the lens regardless of post processing that is where the great images are defined. I know many of us spend hours laboring over every last detail after the fact, but here is a challenge to make the orignials better

So lets see your original captures! No post processing! (other than resize/file type conversions) Use the honor system

So here is a start....

Ok, try this.

Clouds in chrome. The only processing is the XP mailto: resize.

I'll post up some of mine. Sorry I came from shooting 35mm B&W and processing it myself...I don't believe in Photoshop or other programs that "enhance" the image.

Note* All of these pictures were taken with a Sony Cybershot 5MB camera on the B&W setting. I WISH I could afford an XTi...but that seems as though it will never happen.

Found one that wasn't tweaked. The Chili Red really glows like this with the majic hour light.

Oh sure, give me the ultra tiny thumbnail photo that I need a magnifying glass to view!

Yes, it was already tweaked by the camera's settings and the DSP chip in the camera. There is no such thing as zero post processing with digital cameras, it's just done automatically for you in camera. Now who peed in my cheerios this morning rendering me such a sour puss???

Irregardless, it's a great photo Kurt!

Just so you wouldn't be inaccurate, I switched to the "thumbnail" size.

Thanks Dave.

Miniconcarne: nice sunset picture! If I get enough noobies taking sunset pictures I'll be happy.

True dat.

I might as well add that there's no such thing as "zero post" with traditional B&W either.

There's nothing inherently ignoble with post processing—unless you're a maladroit!
Dodging & burning, or layer masks & curve tweaking: it's all good if you can do it well

Does resizing count as photoshopping?
How about converting a RAW file to JPEG?

I committed both of the above sins with this shot.

Otherwise, there's nothing else in the way of post-capture manipulation.
