First let me say that we plan to still make “a night of it” in SF. We have, and several others have, made hotel reservations in SF to spend the night (not exactly cheap). Those that wish to do the same are all welcome to join in on a “non-official/non sanctioned” rogue run in the city by the bay. It will be fun no matter what. Obviously anyone that lives near SF does not need a hotel

Although I have put my name on this event by doing everything possible to help publicize and promote it, I have no control over it (obviously). This news came to me as a posting on , just as it is coming to you. I can’t answer anyone’s questions regarding this event. I suggest that you contact the organizers.

Here is the message that I just got off LarryP: Due to a rally on the bridge and at Chrissy Field plus a MS walk for charity there. The starting point has been moved to the BSSP Agency. #10 Liberty Ship Way, Sausilito. Take the Sausilito exit off 101 follow the Sausilito signs. Its on the left side just past the Bay Model. Let all your people know and post this on your sites. New maps have been made and sent to Sarah.

I'm thinking that eveyone should crash at SRTech's place....wouldn't that be fun.... Should be just around the corner.

 

Since the plans keep changing we could use an address that we can count on. Give me the address and I'll post it everywhere. (just kidding)

 

Unfortunately (or fortunately,) I have a big 200 sq. ft. which is mostly filled with network servers. I might be able to squeeze a few people into the racks if they are skinny enough.

P.S. Frisco is a mountain town off I-70 in Colorado. If you go there, you will miss the meet.

 

 

It's also just down the street from Copper Mountain (site of MINIs in the Mountains later this year)

 

This run sounds like fun, except for the point that I'll be in Bakersfield on the SoCal run on Saturday. Might have to think about it.

 

And while in 'The City' and on the drive, you may drive on 280, 101 or any number of freeways. None of them are preceded by a 'the'. 'The' is an appropriate article to place in front of a bridge , i.e. 'the Golden Gate' or 'the Bay Bridge', but not a freeway. 'The 101' starts just south of San Luis Obispo. North of there it's just '101'.
You don't want to out yourself as a 'foreigner'.

 

Here are the new details. If you are signed up you probably got this email from Sarah. I think if you don't have a Mini you might want to go out and get one today or tomorrow if you want to join the run.

Due to the amount of activity in SF that April 30 (Darfur and Multiple Sclerosis events) we have moved the beginning of the run. We will now be meeting at 8:30am at BSSP - so we will begin and end there.


To those that do not own a MINI: Please park across the street to assure there is enough room for the MINIs in our lot.

I've noticed that as more people move up from the south that the "The + highway number" is getting used more often in the Bay Area. Soon we'll have to quit correcting them because it will become a lost cause.
