I finally got off base last night however it was for the purpose of picking up a co-worker at the Hiroshima airport. This weekend I think I will actually be able to get out and look around. The base that I work in is extremely remote and in a agriculture/residential area on the main island. I finally saw my first new Mini on that trip and I can assure you I look forward to getting back to a Mini. No Accura or some other car for this guy.

Quote: This past weekend, I parked my MINI in the parking lot at a local school during a baseball tournament. As I was entering my MINI, an elderly gentleman was walked by. With a folding chair in one hand, and an ice chest in the other, he gave me a very kind compliment on the MINI. As he turned his head, to look at my car, and say,"Now that's a nice MINI!" he wasn't paying attention where he was walking. He tripped over a parking block and fell on his face. My wife and I ran over to him to check if he was okay. He bounced right up, and laughed. He brushed his pants off, and said,"Man, I guess your MINI mesmerized me!"
I felt bad that the man fell, but I guess I'll take it as a compliment........
That was a great story Cubby! I can't wait to see your car in-person. I don't think I've seen it in the last two years. Btw, great story tonight.

Note: Dr.Steve, you look gangsta in the group picture.

It was kind of weird how Jill happened to drive by JIMINNI's church as I pulled out of the parking lot. I met him to sign off a citation, and as I pulled out, here comes this little rocket flying passed me. I figured it had to be Fracky......there's no way Jill would be driving that way! So, I pulled behind the Audi, and bam! Saw my opportunity to conduct a traffic stop. As I walked up to the driver's side window, I saw poor Jill fumbling with her wallet. We laughed talking about how funny it would be if Joe was actually driving. Dang! I guess I'll have to catch the little rascal next time.

Sorry, it's in my nature................Nothing beats the time when I pulled up in front of Brad's house while he was mowing the lawn, and his back was toward the street. As I pulled up to the curb, I blew my air horn with my overhead emergency lights activated, and he jumped about ten feet! Now that was some funny stuff!

Fracky done with MOD's never.. It is nice having power back after loosing it for 22 hours due to a power transformer blowing out. Electronic locks don't work so well after loosing power and battery back up only works so well if you know what I mean.

Welcome back to the land of MidCal Chief! How're things across the pond? DJ's jealous of you getting all the authentic sushi. Oh, you're right - my modding is a sickness & I'm completely happy with my affliction.

I have been super busy getting ready for a movement to Okinawa in a week. Were going to be there for a bit so logistics are being dealt with now. Sushi is great and the people are awesome over here. I'm located in a very rural area of the main island an hours flight from Tokyo and a 45 minute train ride from Hiroshima. Be safe in MidCal land and I hope to be back for the July Meeting.

Definitely get some pics of some legit JDM cars, so we can see what's going on over there. I have to live vicariously through my car magazines. Drifffffffffft!

Working on a Sunday, now that sounds familiar. Well, you actually used punctuation, unlike one person on this thread that I know of.
