You need to do a quick drive-by so I can loosen the other driveshaft nut. It's probably massively over-torqued like the left side. It will only take a few minutes now that I brought down my four foot 3/4 drive breaker bar.
Steve
How quick is quick? I'm driving it tomorrow, but am pretty tight on scheduling. I can visit the shop this weekend if you'd like. We could put the MSD coil on while we're at it. As far as the clicking sound goes, it's coming from both right/left turn(s).

Half an hour. The other one did the same thing. You just couldn't hear this one until I replaced the other. When did it get loud? When it left here it was just a barely audible click.

So are you going to need to replace this one too or just loosen it up? It got really loud (louder than before) about 2 days after I started driving it.

I'm having a blast ripping around town. It's a lot of fun to shift at +7000rpm.

We are going to try loosening it first in the hopes that it's not destroyed already.
What do you think about that sprint booster? Is it any good to get and install to get rid of that hesitation upon accelerating? I saw it in the NAM vendors section being advertised for 299.00 + 10 shipping.

I haven't actually seen one installed so I don't know if it's worth it, especially on a Cooper. You can almost get a custom tune for that which will give you a better overall gain in responsiveness.

One good thing about is, it's refundable except for the shipping
I know huh! Yay me! As far as the Sprint Booster goes, it would make more sense to fix the problem (ie. tune) then to patch the issue & still lack all the other benefits. Dr.Steve, when do you wanna do the quarterpanels? I know you're excited about that project.
thanks for the info. Won't think about getting it. I will just have SRTech tune it for me.
Well unfortunately Steve cant tune. A tune would cost you $350-400. plus at least $100-150 in dyno time. Plus the closest tuner is in So. Cal, which would cost another $50 at least in gas........soooo.....for your application the Sprint booster may be a good deal? Plus being a Cooper only, not sure what can be tuned to make a difference?

Give it a shot. We'd all like to know how it works.
