Umkay, I can pick it up. By 'eyeballing' the exhaust pipes you don't think I'm at the lean-blue tinge phase yet, right? We could go in stages: 1. gauges 2. roll bar & harnesses 3. stereo & CF work, etc.

It really looks like they were in a hurry to put your MINI back together. First, the ping sensor wire bracket on the intake manifold I replaced last time is missing again (they have two now). It's sort of connected, but not well. Several other brackets are either broken, missing or not connected. All the wires from the dash gauges were pinched between the gauge pedestal and the steering column. There are some very interesting splices to investigate There is a lot of wire pinching and rubbing going on under the hood. I needed some more wiring issues to keep me sharp for Fracky's MINI.

Niiiiiice Checkers. The wiring disaster of the Frackmobile is a near impossible act to follow. It sounds like you might be giving me a run for the money though. Dr.Steve loves wiring challenges though & that's how he gets his ya-ya's out.

Dr. Steve, my headlight didn't want to come on tonight. Had to turn it on and off a couple times.

Okay my fellow MidCalers, I know I am not one to talk, but it starts to get really sad when no one has posted since last Friday. I don't get to post very offten (mainly beacause I have no clue what you guys are talking about, when you start getting technical).
I thought today was a good day, since no one was saying anything anyways! So for all of you SMILE and have a great day!

Is any one think about going on thr run this weekend??

Tina

I've said a number of times that it's someone else's turn to kick-start the thread. It doesn't do any good to respond to my own posts. Where's JIMINNI at? He's usually my pahtnuh in crime around here, but he's gone incognito. Other than that I'm just waiting for Checkers' appointment to be over so I can ride back into the shop. Dr.Steve where you at mang?

Hang in there Fracky. Steve is coming up with things I never even thought of. I hear it's going to be a least another week. Have a nice day.

I was in the Bay Area today with Brad doing an excellent job of manning the shop. Checkers is waiting for some electrical parts to arrive, but it shouldn't be too long before you get the pedestal position back again.

Your A/F gauge is working again, though it's temporarily wired. What a mess. The left gauge pod gauges now work all the time and don't fail when you move the steering column. The low vacuum reading is the gauge, not the MINI, which makes me very happy since I don't have to take the top end off the car. I still have to figure that one out. Unfortunately, I've had to dig deeper than I should have to fix all the things that weren't reassembled correctly or at all. You really should demand that the previous shop return all the missing brackets. I've ordered the ones I could identify and I think I can fabricate something to work for the rest. The oil catch can was completely full and must have been pushing oil/water into the intake. The throttlebody is somewhat discolored but seems to work fine. There should be a warning about emptying them. I'm going to make a drain hose that will be accessible from the wheel opening to make it easier to drain. That's it for now.

Between your & my electrical nightmare(s) we definitely keep Dr.Steve full of "fun" projects.

I've only just started tagging along as the 4th wheel with a couple buddies. The three of them are hard-core backpacking guys, so I'm just along for the ride. Normally, I only camp in hotel rooms.

On another note, we're **super** bummed today & in mourning. Last night when we got home we found one of the kids in the middle of the road. Some fool was racing through the neighborhood & hit Alexander Thaddeus Perry. He was one of my bestest buddies & was a great lil' guy. RIP.

Our sincerest condolence on your lose. It is always tough when a member of the family transitions. Ken & Sandee

Always sad to hear of another casualty on the road. With a name like that it may be hard to memorialize him with a license plate too. Don't hurt yourself on your trip and have fun.

Steve, have you had a chance to call that extended warranty place about my car? Also do you have those OEM fog lights that go into my front bumper?
