ok so here is the info for the Big Brothers Big Sisters event i was talking about at the meeting the other day guys.....also tanks to everyone for being so nice and making me feel so welcomed

 

ok guys i am setting up a team for us there's 5 people per team who wants to bowl and remember we have to raise 70 dollars individually first five get to bowl if there's enough for two teams Jessie said she would let us do two teams!!!! yay

 

Cookiehead & I are down for this. Pete, do we need to send you the form or what do we do? Shelly, are you Nick & DJ ready to get your bowl on?

 

You can count me in. I know Nick will not be able to bowl, but he will be in our cheering section. I'm sure we can get DJ to join us.

 

i already did the form for us. all u guys need to do is start raising ur money we need 350 as a team of 5 so that's only 70 buck each but don't worry we have until April to get it I'm also going to have Jessie set up the website so people can just put their credit card # in and we get the $$$$$$ so yay go midcal!!!!!!!!!!

 

I'll draft a club e-mail & whoever else wants in on this action needs to post, PM, e-mail, throw paper airplane, etc. so we can divvy up each person's cost. Pete do you want the funds to come from the MidCal Minis bank account?

 

Well there are a few options with the funds. The corporate team: Mid Cal Minis can sponsor a team of 5 bowlers for $400 with all the perks but won't be able to compete for the grand prizes unless you individually raise additional funds. Then the individual teams where each person on the team (5 people max on a team) can individual raise $70 each making the team total $350. Raising funds we can do with pledge forms they provide at the Kick Off Meeting on March 4th and they also have a website we can register our teams and raise funds online. Jess let me know what the prizes are this year for the top 3 individual fundraisers and they include:
1st Prize: 4-Day Baja Cruise
2nd Prize: 2 night stay at Harrah's/Harvey's Holtel at Lake Tahoe, $50 gift certificate and dinner theatre show tickets.
3rd Prize: 2 Tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
Group Prize: Pizza Party

 

ok gang so i got us down for a corporate team which means we have to raise 400 bucks.....but we get a plaque that has the club name on it and that will be awesome!!!! so for the five of us that will be bowling it means 80 bucks each......and i will be setting up the website for the bowling team......u can plug in your credit card info and donate using the team name and we can win prizes for getting the highest total donated!!!!!!yay us also i need a final head count for those who wish to participate so far its just me, joe cookiehead and shellyq right??? thats for so one more and we are golden and if more want to bowl i can get another team set up too just lemme know asapo please!!!

 

Rob, Diane, DJ, Michael & Vickiey are usually "in" when we go bowling. Gang, can you PM me & Pete with confirmation so we can get the headcount? Pete, I'll be sending out a club e-mail tomorrow & will include this in my writeup.

GREAT NEWS GUYS we are officially #5 on the top earning online teams for bowl for kids sake!!!!! thank yous go out to all you generous people....and remember any donation is greatly appreciated......even a MINI one!!!

 

to all of you that are going to bowl with us you can add urselves to the team page and people can donate directly to the club thru you!!! you can use your email contacts to let people you know about the website and have them donate to the online fund you can also raise cash money and post all donations on here and i will have jessie add it to our fund and we can get closer to our goal!!!! also ALL midcal members and family are totally invited to come out and support the MidCal bowling team!!!!!!

 

hey all i thought of a good idea to raise some $$$$ for big brothers big sisters and our bowling team!!!! i was thinking we can possibly have a car wash for the club and it will give us all some time to hang out and clean our rides


idk maybe just an idea if i get a good response we can plan it out and maybe do a bar-b-q at the park by my house......i live a block away from Joey Joe Jo-Jo Perry

 

Whatup, whatup gang! This is going to be a good cause & we're looking forward to getting our bowl on. <is that a phrase?> Pete, I'll be donating this weekend to nudge our club along. MINI car wash? Sounds like fun to me. Tom-Tom & K-Dub are pro's when it comes to gettin' their scrub on.

 

yes yes yes and more yes i was thinking next saturday the 11th would be awesome i will even find the place theres a gas station by my house that we can do.....i do however need names and shirt sizes for all participating bowlers also also there are some awards we can win there are four trophies we can win.......best dressed team, highest score, try another sport (lowest score), and twinkle toes (best form) and theres aslo a party pin for the most awesomest team!!!!!! we can totally win the party pin with our cheering section!! also we only need 250 bux to make the 400 for the corporate team.... but i set a goal for us of $1,000.... and if we raise at least 750 we get two teams and that means five more people get to bowl !!! thank you to all of those of you who have donated and all of those who will donate.......also to reel people in big brothers/big sisters is looking for some male role models to become mentors...if you think you cant do it because of time there are options....a one-on one match only requires three hours a week for a year.....theres also the "lunch buddy" program where u spend one hour a week with a kid anyone can do this....there are currrently almost sixty boys who are waiting for a big brother and some have been waiting for YEARS... i even heard of a little boy who was was on the waiting list so long that he outgrew the program!!!!yeah he turned 18 before he even got matched...i am currently in the process of getting matched and i am super excited so if anyone is interested in becoming a big please pm me this is an extremely worthy cause that needs all the great people it can get!!!!! the link to the site to donate is on this thread and if everyone could please forward the link to everyone you know because you never know who will give to a worthy cause like this one.....people have big hearts and want to help sometimes they dont know how....so sorry for the rant and thanks again to all for the support of big brothers big sisters of central california!!!!!

 

Great post Pete & people with the passion and servant's heart like you make the world a better place. How many do we have "in" for bowling next Saturday? I'm ready to practice my moonwalking skillz on the lanes.

 

I see the event is at Sierra Lanes on April 18th, but I cannot seem to find any times posted. A cheering section is allowed isn't it?

 

I'm still in and DJ also will be bowling with us. We both wear a medium size shirt.

cheering section definitely allowed!!!!!!! there are three times they are at one three and five o'clock i signed us up for the five o'clock time.....jessie says that the 5:00 gives us more time to hang out and play because they kick you off the lanes if you dont finish in time on the earlier ones to make room for the next set of bowlers....so we have four out of the five? Shelly, DJ, Joe and me? who is fifth? was ur wife bowling too joe or was chef bowling i dont remember?
