Any idea when the wake will begin? Bitzie has to work some on Saturday (tax season) but we would like to pay our respects at the wake prior to the "family" after services dinner.

Thank you ChrisW and Mrs. Chris for hosting such a great Saint Patrick's/Frackymobile wake and sharing your home with us. Thank you too MINICHEF for the delicious meal and the many hours of kitchen effort that went into the food preparation. Bitzie and I enjoyed seeing Club members again and had a great time conversing with new friends as well.

As promised is the link to the MINI Cooper Clock for your desktop. The Slider game is also fun. They are both under the Entertainment link.

Again thank you to everyone for another great evening.

Thanks for the great day and evening. The tour that Chris led on a perfect spring-like day through the green foothills with running streams and wildflowers was excellent. Steve (MINIChef) cooked a great meal and Joe brought his driving game and chair which got a workout throughout the day. Thanks also to Chris and Jen for hosting the event.

Steve

Thank you all for coming out to the MidCal St.Patrick's Day party & Frackmobile wake. It was a perfect day: great friends, awesome food, fantastic drive & good company. Willum & Terri, thanks for coming to Fresno and spending the day with us.

Here's some pictures chronicling our day: visit to the site of the Frackmobile crash (thanks Dr.Steve for finding the right tree ), beautiful weather at the top of the mountain, hanging out at C-Dub & Jen's house (the look on peoples' faces as the drove --seeing all the MINIs in the neighborhood-- was priceless), Gran Turismo MINI racing on the Suzuka Circuit & Dr.Steve in his zany hat. C-Dub, thanks for being such a great host & leading us on a perfect run.

Bitzie & Kikimowse, thank you very much for my card & condolence gift!

Finally, Dr.Steve: 2:43!! 2:43!!

Chris and Jen thanks for hosting and sharing your house. Minichef (Steve) thanks for all your work .The corn beef was better than advertised. It was great seeing so many Mini enthusiasts. You're right Joe our little convoy really did turn some heads. It offical; the wife definitely doesn't like me to take her for any sort of thrill ride. My right shoulder is still sore.

And how many beers did it take to get Steve to 2:43?? Me thinks we'll have to bring a cooler to auto-xs from now on.

I only made it to 2:45, but Joe had a few hours of seat time so I wasn't too disappointed. I don't recommend going to your real car immediately after the game since the steering and pedal inputs are completely different. My MINI really felt weird. Sorry about your shoulder, but I don't think you'll ever get her back in the car again for a MidCal run so it won't happen again.

Steve (MINIChef) has offered to come down the weekend of March 14th & 15th and give a cooking demo on how to make his corned beef & cabbage. It will be hosted at our house in Clovis. I will post the address and direction as the event gets closer. More details will come but please either post in here or shoot me a PM if you think you might be interested. I will need a final head count by march 8th so we know how much food to get.

There will be a short drive in the hills. So for those interested in the drive but not so much in the demo you'll have something to look forward to too.

UPDATE:

I Need a final head count by this thursday afternoon so I'll know how much food to get. If you want to bring something we need: Irish Cheddar cheese, Irish Soda Bread, Smoked Salmon, Dublin Bay Prawns, Irish Butter, Carrots, Onions, Parsnips, Cabbage, Red Potatoes.

If someone wants to be in charge of a Salad or dessert that would be nice too.
PM, or post in this thread so I can start to cross things off the list.

So far people signed up are:

1.Joe & Jill
2.Clif & Lowlie
3.Kevin
4.Willium & Terri
5.Dusty & Susie
6.peteyd4 +1
7.Steve
8.Jim but we don't need food for him.
9. DJ
10. Dr.J - Fracky's bud
11. Kikimowse and Bitzie
12. donp624p (2)

Just another Update:

Talk to Joe, I don't know anything about a meeting.

Drive starts at 1PM
In between the start of the run and dinner there will be the wake. I'm not sure what time thats going to happen.
Dinner starts at 6PM

Due to a definite lack of interest among most MidCal members up until just two weeks ago, we made the decision to make this more of a St. pattys party instead of a MidCal party as such we will have invited 10 to 12 non-MidCal people too.

Well, since no one else wants to tell him why, then I will !!!
Chris, after you shouted at the top of your lungs for the club members to "Shut the F&*$# up !!!...tell me...why would anyone want to be subjected to such abuse again.....maybe you forgot, but we sure haven't......

I think we've all said and done a few things that we wish we could change, but if our friends will forgive our indiscretions and give us a little time, we might have a chance to learn by our mistakes.

Vickie, I cannot speak to the hurt that you are feeling right now, but I would hate to think that you will allow this incident to take you away from other members of the Club that will truly miss your zest for life and the energy that you bring to the group. I know that I have made mistakes in my life and wish that I could have "do overs". I have a poem that I keep handy to remind me that when someone says or does something to me that hurts, that I have been there too and may not even have realized that I too caused pain. I hope that you will give everyone another chance.

To forgive
Is not to forget.

To forgive
Is really to remember
That nobody is perfect
That each of us stumbles
When we want so much to stay upright
That each of us says things
We wish we had never said
That we can all forget that love
Is more important than being right.
To forgive
Is really to remember
That we are so much more
Than our mistakes
That we are often more kind and caring
That accepting another's flaws
Can help us accept our own.
To forgive
Is to remember
That the odds are pretty good that
We might soon need to be forgiven ourselves.
That life sometimes gives us more
Than we can handle gracefully.
To forgive
Is to remember
That we have room in our hearts to
Begin again
And again, And again.

Kikimowse & Dr.Steve, couldn't have said it any better. There's a number of "do-overs" I'd request in a heartbeat if I could, but I've lived with the consequences of my actions & become a better man for it. C-Dub has become a great friend of mine & has come a long way since the story being mentioned here. What's done is done & if you talked to C-Dub you'd hear how he feels about it.

Its funny that you feel the need to post this after the fact. But I'm sure it makes you and others who dislike me mad that people came and had a good time. But that's just you speaking to be heard again and having to throw in your $.02.

People who wanted to come did. Its your loss not mine, there was great food and I think everyone who showed up had a good time. If I'm wrong in assuming this please correct me.

As for yelling Shut the ****** up. I do regret the way I acted out in that moment. I'm sorry if I was taught to respect people when they are talking in front of a group of people. My words were only directed at one person and not the whole group. It seems to me no one in the club wants to listen myself included when I was a member of the group. If you feel like I was out of place maybe you should stand up and talk sometime when no one will listen and see how you handle yourself.

I had this event at my house as a favor to Steve(MINIchef) and Joe(Fracky) so really you're only hurting yourself and them by boycotting this event.

I can't tell you how little respect I have for such a shallow vengeful person who would go so far out of their way to cause harm to others. Grow up!

Well said Steve. I myself am not one to forgive & forget, so I know where Vickiey is coming from. (Just one of my faults) All in all, it looks like a good time was had by all. I just wanted to get my .02 in also.

I've got one other thing to say.

I didn't post that because I was mad about the lack of interest from the club. I posted it because people wanted to know about the meeting of which I knew nothing about. Its so funny that you read one post of a 70 post thread and you think you know everything. I hope you look in the mirror once and awhile because you treat people a lot worse than I do.
