Where to get Tint in Columbus Area??

Hi, We are wanting to have the car tinted in the next week or so. I was wondering if you can recommend a place in the Columbus or surrounding areas? Thanks!

I've always used Quality Window Tint (614)-476-0044 on Morse Rd. Don't let the location scare you. It's behind a storage facility and looks like a dive, but they do excellent work!

Called them and found that a tint job (any darkness) on a convertable is $159. The process takes about 3 hours, and they have approx. a 1 week lead time on appointments. They can also add up to a 5" strip to the top of the windscreen for an additional $30.

Quality Window warrantys the film against cracking, peeling or bubbling for the LIFE of the windows, which is, in my opinion, a great warranty- there's nothing worse IMHO than a cheap-***, bubbled up tint job, so if these guys have been around for a while and won't be going out of business I think I'll be doing this in the next few weeks.

Ohio law says you can go as dark as 50%, which seems REALLY dark for anyplace that's not Florida or down south... has anyone tinted their windows and if so what darkness did you use? I have the orange, so the black really contrasts that color well, but I want to be able to see at night as well.

Curvz... what darkness did you use on your other cars, and do you have any photos? Did you have to do anything special to the windows after installation to keep them looking good? Also, did you have them do the windscreen strip or just the sides/rear?

Unfortunatly i do not have pictures of all my tints, and as you know the sun is never out here, so they always looked darker.

That being said, when i had 35% on the windows and 25% on the rear i never had any problems with cops. Keep in mind, 50% is legal. I was pulled over in my next car, 25% and 15% respectivly, and only had one ticket from the three times being pulled over.

Personally, the 25 and 15 was almost to dark at night. I had to pay MUCH more attention when driving in residential areas at night because things got lost in the tint. I am going to go with 50% on the MINI because I have enough problems not getting pulled over as it is in this car

Not sure how dark yet. Yes we are planning on going to the breakfast. This will be our first breakfast, we normally aren't up that early, we are second shifters. Then we are getting a pulley installed

Looking forward to it The tint is going to be done after the pulley, so we should know by then how dark we want to go.

We decided on the 35%. It looks great! Thanks for referring us! It's is kind of dirty right now, but I will get pics once it is all cleaned up! I have all kinds of tips to put into action after watching the detail clinic!

You might try Ziebart, too. I got 50% on the fronts, 35% on the rears and 20% on the rear window, along with a 20% glare strip on the windshield. It was about the same price as mentioned by everyone else and took about 3 hrs.

I've found the quality at Ziebarts in Columbus can be a hit or miss proposition. We had a Neon ACR tinted at the one in NW Columbus (near Henderson road IIRC) and it turned out great. We had our Volvo wagon tinted at Ziebart on the west side (Wilson Rd), and the installation quality was noticeably worse than on the Neon. Wasn't bad enough to bother taking it back, but it was worse.

I had Ziebart of Dayton do my Cooper's tint last year and it has been a good job, holding up well. Last week, I just had my new S done, and am quite pleased with it, too. Perhaps Dayton's smaller market translates into better service....

Isn't 35% illegally dark on anything but the rear? Or are you not in Ohio?

LOL... speed? ME? No never... :: gasps as nose grows 6" ::

I was more asking because I'm surprised that they installed it. When I called Quality Window, they said that they'd do the 50%... maybe I just sort of needed to ask point-blank about darker options.

Do either of you have pics of what your cars look like with the 35-38?

Oh, and Kimini, did Quality Window do your tint?

When i had them install mine, I had to sign something saying that they told me it was illegal.

I am not sure if i have pictures or not, my last computer just died. I did back everything up, but I am still in the process of finding everything. I also had a car with 28 on the fronts and 18 on the back.

I've had a very bad experience with Ziebart on Old Henderson road. All I wanted was a 20% band on the windshield of my 4Runner. I got that, but I also got a scratch right across the windshield on the outside. Seems as though the installer laid the tint on the outside of the window & used it as a cutting surface. The windshield had to be replaced & they weren't too good about doing it. I had to threaten legal action.

Stay away from Ziebart!
