Reaching out to my fellow Buckeyes

O-H-I-O! Now that I have that out of the way I was hoping that the lurkers here would be good enough to share their thoughts/opinions.

Saturday 6/18/11 will be the 5th PUB Mini meet. We have had around 200 cars attend from 15 different states, however, we have sparse turnout from the mid Ohio/Columbus area over the last 4 years.

This year will feature a scavenger hunt/drive, Beatles AND Stones tribute bands, custom shirts, and raffle for over $2k in prizes. Great food/drink at an awesome Brit pub. A free event with proceeds from shirt/raffles going to a childrens shelter.

What I would like to know is what would attract you to come to Cleveland for this show? What has kept you from attending in the past? If you came in the past what would you do different?

We are trying to put together the best event possible for everyone. Please chime in with your ideas. Thanks!!

It seems like I ALWAYS want to go to this bt that it ALWAYS conflicts with something else I have going. Summertime is just crammed, is all, and with time (and money) tighter than ever, I usually will opt to go to something local as opposed to something I have to maybe do an overnight to do. Not because I don't want to, though!

Personally, I wish there were more Fall events - September or October for example. Seems like I'm looking for stuff do to that time of year, before I put my classic up for the snowy months.

I agree with Matt. I would make it a day trip in the fall but the summer weekends are packed with baseball games, vacations, and other stuff not pulling me away in the fall. Sounds like a great time.

what was the date for this year. I know I did another car event. I think I may have been at Mid-Ohio Sport Car course but I can't remember the date of the pub run. I also like the idea of a fall event but college football may interfere.

In the past it has always been on the same day that we have my son's b-day party, so maybe it will work out in 2011.

This yearI think that event was on top of the vintage races at Mid-Ohio & I believe it was last year also. Or possibly it was the Grand Am races.

I was just looking at the calendar for 2011 and it would appear that next year's Pub event will fall on Father's Day weekend. This year that was the same weekend as the Grand Am races.

My Dad wants me to hang out at the racetrack. Since it is father's day I know where I'll be.

Timing.....

is the toughest part of this thing. Everyone is busy, especially with kids (I have 3).

June affords us the best luck weather wise as fall ( my first choice) is too dicey. With the amount of time and money that goes into this event i need to hedge my bets against rain.

I am hoping that the 6/18/11 date will seperate us from other events that go down in early June (prior years) not to mention graduations.

Hope everyone can plan ahead and make it. Love to see everyone. It really is an incredible day.

Thanks for the responses! GO BUCKS!
