AutoX Sunday!

Two things:

1. The Miata club is holding an AutoX Sunday.

2. I am worried that my car is going to be at MAG all weekend (car will not go into 1st gear) and am looking for a backup plan. If anybody is going to attend and would not mind letting me drive their car I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about your car, but I'd like to know how it turns out and what the problem was.

I am all about driving slow cars fast, but driving the Volvo for AutoX would be taking that a little too far

This just in MAG says I need a new transmission. The guy who looked at it went to lunch after discovering whatever the problem is so I do not have any additional details. Anybody have an extra transmission sitting aorund?

I do, but it might be a little small for your car.

It's those ^%$#@! orange wheels... your poor car barfed up its transmission trying to shed them I think...

Seriously - that stinks. This is the second Cooper I've heard about in as many weeks that's needed this. Do not like.

I had my transmission replaced just before warranty ended. My shifter was getting stiff and I sometimes could not get it into 1st, 2nd, or R when first starting the car. If I moved the shifter through the rest of the gears it loosened up. Then some time later after driving a bit it started getting harder to pull the shifter out of gear. I never got an explanation as to what went wrong. They might not have known so they just replaced the whole thing.
