Yes had a great time, ran the Dragon at least six times could have done several more but many other roads to explore, Moonshiner 28 and Skyway are excellent as well. The Leos were there and writing a few souvenirs for folks. Actually there were two there all the time but once you met them on your run up there was no fear of seeing any more, also great that there was no trucks or motorhomes.

The vendor area was always busy, and events and runs were fun. Met many great people, wish I could have met them all.

Now for the bad, the trip home. I had to drive 12 hrs to get home 8 of which were in a torrent of rain, I had to return home on Saturday which now with the flooding in Tennessee along I40 was a good thing. I made it to within 30 miles of home when a Prius in front of me slamed on its breaks on I 70 doing 70 MPH in the wet, I had to brake hard enough to slide then you can guess what happened next, I by the grace of God did not get hit but the next 14 cars and one tractor trailer were no so lucky, cars, trucks and mud were flying. We all were very lucky only one broken leg in the whole accident. and the Prius that started it all didnt even stop...

So glad that you are OK!
How scary...

Fortunately, our drive home to Tallahassee was uneventful.
We had a great time at our first MOTD.

Had a great time! Looking forward to going back next year.

The weather was perfect for the event (good because I was camping), but it was raining hard about middle Kentucky through Cinci on the way back. A few of us stopped at the Richmond, KY exit for Starbucks.

The vendor area is dangerous though. Need to have more $$$$$ available next year. I resisted, but won a raffle with a couple of gift certificates so that helped hold me over.

I had the pleasure of camping with Robb and Angela at the dam and they were much more prepared than I was . Might skip the camping next year...

Had a great time as a Dragon "NOOB" and we are already planning the trip for next year. Driving the dragon was awesome and incident free - except for the Chili Red MCS that was 1/2 way into my lane in one of the corners.

Snooter and the event organizers did a really good job and the vendor tents were all super helpful as well.

We left for D.C. with 14 MINI's in the group, picked up one "stray" member on the way and had a great drive home. We went from "Dragon Slayers" to "Bug Slayers" and I'm grateful for the steady rain we had overnight as it'll soften up the bug guts on the front end of the car.

See ya next year!

Craig

Sounds like everyone had a good time. Scary time on I70, yikes! Gotta love someone who causes an accident & a really huge one at that only to hyper-mile away.

Allen must have been the regurgative braking on that Prius.

Thanks everybody for filling us stay at homers.

It was our first time, but Ang and I had a BLAST! While we went there with the idea that it would probably be the only MOTD that we attended... we're already looking into plans to attend 2011! We met a ton of cool people, saw some amazing cars and the roads... wow! The flats of ohio are SO straight... *sigh

Might have to tag along for Old Farts on the Dragon this year just to get a twisties fix!

We had a blast! Weather was great, since like Chris said we were camping, so I was grateful for that one. We went on the Waterfalls and Elk drives and met a lot of great people especially a select few from Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Hellbender was almost as good as the Dragon, but not quite, We ran the Dragon 8 times and US-28 much more than that. Great roads! I agree with Chris, the vendors were dangerous We're already planning for next year I'm trying to talk Robb into taking the LRW down next year. Wish me luck MOTD 2011 here we come!

I definitely want to try to do the waterfalls and elks next time.
Any chance that they can open 129 for people driving in and then home, but block it off again for the event ?

Remember not all of Ohio is flat and not all the roads are straight. The Dragon is nice, but I think Chuck and I could show you some stuff in Ohio that would cause you to rethink the drive to TN.

The part of Ohio that Robb and I drive daily is unfortunately very flat and very straight.... The drive to Tennessee is horribly long but everything about MOTD makes it worth it

Robb if you & Ang come on Eric's Riverrun I promise no straight flat boring roads.

Lots of great roads an hours drive from central Ohio. I love being down in the smokies, but the drive down & back gets old.

unfortunately we won't be able to make it to the river run again this year. We have a wedding in Indiana for Robb's cousin. I'll guess we'll try again next year.

Bring them along. The ferry boat captain can marry them in the middle of the Ohio River.

There will be a Riverrun as long as I'm alive to do one. See you next year!
