The pic review shows all the people the photo guys captured crossing the yellow like at this years MOTD. Lotsa OHIO guys...maybe YOU....AND, your license plate is there for all to see....
Hey Jeff, as far as I know no one from here did anything wrong. You are barking up the wrong tree my friend.
PM me & I'll fill you in on who two of those folks are. Then you can talk with them directly if you'd like. Nice guys, but I'm more than a bit surprised by their disregard for others.
There seems to be a very large problem on the dragon. A lot of people mistake a public road that anyone can use as their own personal racetrack. We've got a couple good racetracks right here in Ohio.

Woof.... ;-)
Like I said no one here did any wrong. I did nothing wrong & neither did lots of Ohio drivers. Maybe you should register your MINI in Michigan to escape the terrible shame & stigma that the fail on the dragon thread has brought you.

I can ALWAYS count on you to disagree with things I may say or do, so why should I even bother? I posted the thread because so many seemed to really be upset with the numbers of OHIOANS crossing the yellow line. It seemed to me a good thing to let the Ohio club members who might not read the MOTD threads be aware and make the necessary improvements.
No one criticized YOU, because YOU do not attend MOTD.
Myself, I am not ashamed to be an OHIOAN, nor am I ashamed of other MINI drivers who live here. I've lived here all my life, pay my taxes and drive my MINIs to the Dragon, to HPDEs, all around, and to BCDs. No doubt, the "offenders" are good people whose pics were taken at a bad time [ie., trying to safely negotiate the Dragon's curves whil still having a good ride]. It happens to ALL of us at one time or another, but these guys got caught and are thus subject to the wrath of the "Fail of the Dragon".
That's why I prefer other roads that are NEAR the Dragon. The Skyway, for example, is much more open, and far less insane. But... I might be a smidge biased. Might...
I still wanna do the Dragon in Fiona one time, though. Maybe next year (sigh).

Matt if you go in the classic the roads are much wider for your wee car.
I agree that the surrounding roads are just as or even more enjoyable that 129. When we do OFOTD we drive in on 129 & out on 129 on the way home. The rest of the time we explore other areas.

Oh yeah... I loved 129... UNTIL I took a day and drove all over the OTHER roads. Now I do the Dragon for the Midnight Run, but that's about it - the rest of the time, if I'm in the car, I'm on some other road. It's actually kinda nice: the Dragon pulls away 98% of the weenies that wold otherwise be lane-drifting in front of ME.
yeah... as far as 129 goes... all the screaming, wobbly-wheelie-ing sportbikes, 20 MPH Harleys, double-wide trailers, sightseeing minivans and... oh yeah... the occasional flipped over orange MINI (ahem!) just make me cringe.

Hey Jeff my friend have a smoke & relax. You are too upset about this stuff. That's not good for you.
So what if those cars had Ohio plates.
To NOT be upset would be to CONDONE the careless driving of the people involved, Chuck. However, as stated before, I posted just to make everyone aware that others [outside Ohio] do not think of Ohioans as particularly good drivers because of this.
I was very sad after viewing the video. Spawn and I had fun but I think that was our last MOTD in May. I rather enjoyed when we went in July '07, all alone and free from the pressure to drive faster or like an idiot trying to prove something.
Count me as an offender. I was over the line by a bit in a photo from last year. Was I going too fast? No. Was I being careful? Yes. Was there oncoming traffic? No. Are you looking at the guy with a camera pointed at you and not the line? Yes. Would I rather be a foot over the line than catch the other edge and flip into the guy with the camera?... uh... yes.
Oh yeah.... I'm a 30+ years Ohio driver and have had one ticket in that time -- maybe 2 parking tickets.

It's unfortunate to me that something as serious as this is seen as a joke or elicits sarcastic and condescending responses from you, Chuck.

The above said, I did not expect to be belittled by my friend, Chuck, for having the guts to make the thread. Should I have just "minded my own business" and let those on the original forum pick apart Ohio drivers? You tell me.
