This link explains how the leak diagnostics system works (on a BMW).
I found a list of fault codes here. P1441 - P1449, P1470, P1473, P1475, P1476, and P1477 have to do with the leakage diagnostic pump operation. I have P1476 which seems to say the pump or tube has a blockage. I wouldn't be surprised if fuel or some other crap got into it.
