Other Hobbies???

I think most of you know I like to ride bicycles in addition to my Mini addiction and I was wondering what other hobbies everybody else has. Part of this comes from this week being the most exciting week of the year for bike nerds like me it is Interbike in Vegas it is the place to be to learn about all the new stuff that everybody wants, but nobody can afford. My favorite bike shop always provides cool insights on items they see:

I know it does not look exciting, but the Vice Whip a little ways down is about the coolest thing I have ever seen, the tool it repaces is one of the most difficult bike tools to use so whoever figured out this alternative deserves a big hug

Interbike sounds like what a dad bike & mom bike do when they want to make a little bike.

Carol and I have been into bicycles for many years, though my waistline shows we have not been riding much since buying our HD Streetrod and now BMW R1100RT. Our bicycle stable includes Cannondale tandem, mountain bike and loaded touring bike (used to have a 'dale racing bike but sold it when I "outgrew" it). Also have a Sun Recumbent. Carol had a Sun recumbent trike which she just sold. Also have hobbies including cameras and guns.

other hobbies include hiking, birding, attemteping to become a better photographer with my new toy (D40), downhill skiing, a bit of kayaking, playing WoW, and surfing the net about my latest obsession

Think that about covers it...

As u can imagine, Finding the time for hobbies is the most difficult. Luckily there are seasons and combination hobbies (ie: hiking, birding , photo)

When not on NAM, I enjoy reading, long walks on the beach, and romantic candlelight dinners

Actually, I don't have any hobbies. Maybe amateur palentologist since Lil' B.A.D. is on a big dinosaur kick right now. I can honestly say that I know more about dinosaurs then I ever thought I would.

Fly fishing is what I like to do. In my neck of the woods there are some nice streams where the action is good for trout. Fish aren't so big but they are aggressive and fun.

So this also causes me to like to hike because a lot of the places I go to are off the beaten path. I've also done several 14k peaks in CO when I'm not fishing.

The picture is up in Rocky Mountain National Park. That was an great day to be outdoors hiking and fishing. Lots of greenback cutthroat trout there!

Unfortuantely sometimes I have to leave the mini at home since he isn't offroad ready for some of the places I go to in the mountains!

Biking is another sort of hobby...mainly for exercies but I don't get out on the road much. I've got my Giant road bike on a trainer so I can watch tivo/and get some exercise at the same time.

I think the wife would like it better if my hobby was working on the honey do list I have accumulated over the summer!

Whitewater Kayaking, collecting MINIS/minis (full size and models). All 3 minis and the 7 kayaks stay in the two car garage together without fighting. All of the canoes have to stay outside.

I am also an avid bicyclist. I ride about 140-200 miles a week. Most of those miles are from commuting to and from work. In addition, I enjoy downhill skiing and running. I just started swimming lessons so I can get ready for an upcoming sprint triathlon.

I have not heard of the Interbike. Thanks for the web site as well; it's bookmarked.

I've got a few hobbies that are fun, relaxing, money saving / generating, and promote patience....

Pen Making

and Winemaking... getting ready to start (2) batches, Chianti and Sauvignon Blanc...

I've thought about making some pens based on actual MINI colors but not sure about having to 'gather' that much paint around the house...

Playing soccer, hiking (I miss NH. I've done La Plata in CO), video games, and audio/video projects. There are so many others that I want to get in on, such as bicycling and beer and wine making.

I'm not so ambitious with my cycling, but I do enjoy tooling around town on my Classic Nirve 3 speed. It's just a cruiser, but it enables me to widen my wander radius!

I also like to tinker with computer graphics. I recently created this puppy in Adobe Illustrator:

It's a rendering of a concept vehicle known as a Venture One, a two passenger tilting three-wheeled hybrid.

I like the same hobbies as Wellzy.
bbq meat, cooking in genaral, wood working, Minis, and skiing. I need to add winemaking to that list also. I currently have a batch of Cabernet Franc going. I just racked it into the carboy today!
