CHKMINI is in REHAB

CHKMINI (the car...not the person) is in rehab. I've finally found time to work on my car instead of others. Rehab includes:
  • Vented Fenders
  • Painted Arches/Bumper Trim
  • Aero Side Kit
  • Full De-Badging
  • Hamaan style CF Front Spoiler
  • Beltline down Color Coat and Clearcoat
It has also undergone a few more mods during the winter, but since I don't list mods (it's an undercover thing) you'll see what they are at the next breakfast.

It will take a couple of days to complete and will be ready for April's breakfast and Amish Country Drive. I'm going to commission Chuck to take some new shots when it's completed.

Sounds interesting...guess the wife, dog and I will just have to mosey on over to the breakfast that day and check out your improvements before going on tha Amish country drive.

By the bye, when [and where] should I plan on dropping off those holeys for repainting? Other than cleaning off all the crud, is there anything else I can do to prep them for you before bringing them over?

Oh yes there is. Put a new set of 205-50-15 Hankook R-S2 tires on them first.

Mark, I'll pick up the tires from you when Jeff drops off the wheels.

Sorry, those Falken Azenis RT-15s will be going on, at least for this year. When they are toast, I'll go to the Hankooks.

That looks great Mark! Those vented fenders are sweet. Whose PS R56 is that in the background at Casa de Crashton?

A 4 day R56 test drive.....

Brian, you have good eyes. Why it's my new car!!!

No it is not! Sorry couldn't help myself. It was a loner from MAG. I have to say it was a very nice car. Lots of power, but it didn't have a LSD & with that power IMO it needs it. It also had the standard suspenders & was pretty soft. Nice cushy ride, but a lot softer than Blu Brit. After 4 days I still couldn't figure out the radio controls. That may be just a silverback thing. After 4 days my favorite part of the R56 was....... Gas mileage!!! I averaged 35 mpg using the OBC. I'm keeping my R53, but I have to say the R56 is very nice & yep it is a MINI.

Has anyone else noticed how Mark's MINI just sucks the gloss of the other cars around it making it even shinier?

Glad it wasn't raining. You didn't have to figure out the intermittent wipers.

That radio is a kill point for me, people say ohh you would get used to it. But then I would be jacked up in every other car on the planet. The designers should be smacked for such a silly design.

I remember on my first test drive saying to my wife "now that's funky".
And I wasn't referring to the station it was on.

I remember my first test drive saying "more volume not different station! I hate this stupid design!" OK maybe screaming would be a more appropriate term for what I was doing

That MINI is so fine. But I'm not parking anywhere near it. Mine would look terrible in comparison. Blu Brit would become dull Brit.
