What % did you end up going with? I agree with the tint showing the salt!

True, but I think that's more because bad drivers think that the 4WD will give them extra grip/control that they just don't have. Bad driving is bad driving, no matter what the vehicle. That said, I'd much rather be in the 4WD, high up off the street in the big, heavy vehicle when one of those OTHER SUVs comes careening towards me in a slide... It's still the best tool for the job IMHO.

I went with the silver to dark fade it looks pretty good I think. NOT!!!!!!!

I went 39%, the 50% just did not seem dark enough and after seeing it on the car I think I made the right decision. There was a silver Mazda 3 Hatchback there that looked fantastik, almost made me want to trade cars.

I'm still disagreeing on the best tool, but heck opinions are what makes us all unique & different. I do respect yours.

Now if ya want a big heavy tool to be safe in, here you go...

No one is going to hurt you in this.

Hey, do I really resemble that remark? Afterall I need to keep up to speed w/you S-ers aka Silverbacks in there S minis.

BTW - We need to come up with another membership reference as I'm not obviously a Silverback or a Weedhopper. I'm sure there are others like myself out there who feel left out of a category. As I hit submit I'm starting to regret my comment and wonder what replies I will be seeing.

Sway-install Day?

If Outmotoring has the space, and are willing to let a newbie like myself in...will anyone be available to show me how to install my 'S' swaybar? I've heard it's an "easy mod" once you've done it.

The most I've done to my MINI is rotate the tires and change the mirror caps...pretty advanced, I know! Just wondering any of you mod-experts would be willing to lend a hand, wrench, etc? We could do Kim's sway too (if she was so inclined...)

Just a thought...

**** Yep ya do. You need no speed equipment. You are fast enough all ready. Dad warned me about fast women.

You could join the hair club & get a silverback weave.

Just think of the possibilities.

If Rick comes over you should ask him. He did mine. A great guy that's handy with a spanner.

Carve don't worry I am sure the Silverbacks will all give you advice on how to make the swap, not that they will actually help but they will definitly give you advice

Can someone make sure I get pads for my random orbital on Saturday?

What pads do you need? Is your random orbital a Griots one? I'm guessing an 80 grit one would remove anything. Paint included.

Allen can you bring my wheel center trims over with you please?

Definitly Chuck I forgot that I had them, they are in my garage I will track them down tonight and put them with the shirt I have for Mark. I am going to feel like Santa.

Yes I got a Griots for Christmas but no pads so I have been using the velcro to "polish" my neighbor's cars

Thanks Allen!

I'm sure Aaron stocks those pads. You are going to love that polisher. When the thaw comes I'm going to have to give the MINI the once over. I can't believe all the micro scratches that are showing up. Wish I had Pepper White.

Chuck, after Allen gets good at using the Griot's RO I think he needs to give Blu Brit and CHKMINI there spring shinings

Thank GOD someone NEW has a RO.

That reminds me - I need a medium pad for my PC... I have a fine pad, but it's almost TOO gentle when used with DP's Swirl. Great with Finish or wax though - I literally cannot imagine having to do that job by hand ever again.

If it's a hard top with silver roof and mirrors, it's him. If it's a convertible with a black top, it's me.

That would be me! It's not so pretty right now I washed it when we had the 60 degree weather and have not had a chance to wash it since. It doesn't help that I've been working long hours and today was the first day I've actually seen my car in daylight in a week

Good seeing everyone even with the cold. A quick note to anyone who wanted a copy of the book but did not get a chance to place an order today, just send me a PM and we will get you set up. I should be placing the order sometime this weekend. Stay warm!

Nice to see so many hardy MINI souls out on a cold morning. At least the sun came out & it didn't snow.

For an unorganized club we sure do have a lot of unorganized members.

You folks that didn't make it. We missed you.

EDIT>>> Nice seeing some new faces today.

Nimcosi what a splendid job you did on that book. I know my coffee table is getting a copy.

**** Would there be any interest in doing a MINI drive when the weather breaks? Maybe a ride into the country for lunch.****

Great to see everyone today. And thanks to Aaron again for putting up with the stampede in his shop.

I'd be into a drive.
