Not that I'm aware of. If you are late all the coffee may be gone & the donuts consumed.

Mark may have bought all the carbon fiber from Aaron too.

I just put some more carbon inside my car, it is now a one of a kind. Can't wait to show it off along with the newly tinted windows!

Can Outmotoring plug my MINI in and find out why my "service Engine Soon" light popped on the other day? NO performance changes, or anything that I can notice...

I can't get my r50 down to Cincy until the 26th!

My light has come on a couple of times and it was an Oxygen sensor the first time and a bad spark plug wire the next time. The dealer never rushes me in when I say that light is on, which to me is a bit weird.

Our check engine light came on a few weeks ago when it was cold and disappeared once the weather warmed up. I called my dealer, Cincy MINI and they discouraged me from making the 100 mile trip if the car was running ok (which it is). I insisted and they are taking me next Monday. Want it checked out before spring travel season.

BTW, Carol and I are hoping to make the breakfast -- have missed the last few due to schedule conflicts. Invited our daughter Erin and soninlaw Mike to bring their 2007 MC - triple black.

Rob,

Do Erin and Mike live in Columbus? I think I might have seen Mike the other day around the corner of Morse and Stygler.

Hold off on testing the new Mini, rumor has it the Diesel will be coming to America later this year. This could be the one thing to get me in a new new Mini. Especially if they redesign the radio Now if only we could get the Ford people to release the Powerstroke name how cool would that be a Powerstroke Mini?

Might work...but I'm not sure I could convince my wife to hold off longer...she's wanted her own mini since we bought mine back in March!

Diesel mpg would be VERY nice though...

I will have my ODBCII reader with me. We should at least be able to get a code you can search on.

NOTE: I just heard that the weather is supposed to be VERY cold on Saturday (like, 19 degrees).

That being the case, I'd WAIT on swapping mirror covers until it's a bit warmer. I fear the plastic clips on the covers or on the back of the mirror itself that hold it to the adjustment puck may become brittle and snap. If you really want me to do it, I will, but I wanted you to know that the coldness concerns me. It's up to you.

PS - Any Autozone or car parts place has a ODBC reader, and will print you out a little sheet with possible reasons for the code. If the car is running well, I'd bet it's the oxygen sensor - they're infamous for going out. has little effect, other than that the car might run a tad rich to make up for the misreading sensor, but it's worth taking a look.

Good point Allen.

Yep them monkey's could go all aboriginal on ya. Try as I might I can't get them to listen to me anymore. Once they discovered they had opposable thumbs that was it. Now there is just no talking to them. Even the cute little ones have copped an attitude.

Allen, why would you want a diesel? They stink to high heaven & have the resale value of a dead carp.

Seems to me even if the mileage is very good, it would take a long while to recoup the extra cost of a diesel. Plus the fuel costs more than premium gas.

Are you interested in hanging with the truck stop hussies?

And I sure hope they won't shake, rattle and roll like the diesel Rabbit my wife had. I'm convinced it was some sort of high decibel vibrating German massage therapy device.

+1 for a trip to Autozone to have the code read. I would say in the short term I wouldn't worry about it, but if it is the o2 sensor & you are running rich, over time it will kill the Cadillac converter.

If you have a steady service light it's most likely emission related. If you have a flashing one get to thee dealer asap.

The Mini Diesel gets around 70 mpg and could be converted to run on bio-diesel which would allow me to look down on everybody else for destroying the environment. I think I might put an electrical outlet where the tow hook goes in the front and start telling people my Mini is an electric car.

As they say, your mileage may vary. I find that 70 mpg number a bit hard to believe.

Great idea on the plug. I've had several people ask me if my car was electric. I think it's the power steering whine that does it.

I got some bio methane for ya.

Pull my finger.....
