See Frank at Interstate Tire Discount Center in Cockeysville. Very low key, sports car background, can get most of the desirable brands for MINI's at good prices and they know their way around a nice wheel.

I've seen a ton of MINI's as well. Very surprised and impressed.

 

Some (3) of us are having a gathering Wednesday at 1800 (6pm) or so at the Starbucks by First Colony if you care to join us. If you know any MINI owners, bring them along. Nothing formal, just a cuppa or whatever.

 

Just checking in on this thread but word to the wise for those of you in Carroll County: Stay away from Mr Tire in Eldersburg. Not only did they put a couple of scratches on the wheels (didn't know how to take off the wheel caps), they attempted to steal my custom valve stem caps. I've since learned to remove them before taking my car in for any service.

 

What is the exact location, please advise.

I will try to be there if I come back in time from Philly.

Hey all, I'm new to this thread and just returned to the area, but I was wondering, is there a baltimore/annapolis club? I looked into the DC club, but wasn't looking to be paying dues and whatnot, my old club was free membership. It looks like there are a ton of us around here, if there isnt a B&A club already, is there any interest in starting one?

 

If there is one, they are underground.

Join the DCMM club. The dues are nominal, the people are good (except for one or two of us, maybe ) and it's the most active MINI club in the USA.

Oh... and stay away from MINI of Annapolis (Tate's) service department. They are under new mgt but appears things are still not turned around there.

 

really, that stinks. Ive been there, but only to pick up parts, and my husband does the work. Good to know though, thanks.
Maybe I'm lazy, but I also dont relish the idea of driving into dc with its fantabulous roads for meetings and whatnot. I kind of thought there were enough minis in the B&A area to keep me busy. lol... That and I've become a little stingy with my money lately since I got laid off, thus the looking for a free club. lol... good to see you again! I havent been on in awhile.

 

Yeah... it's good to see you around the board again, too. Seeing your name was like a Blast from the Past. And now you're local !!

Now... the DCMM club... don't let the name fool you. Most of the events are outside the DC area, in Maryland, Northern VA, and even some up in PA and WV.

And if you're "stingy" these days, besides the membership fee, you can participate in a lot of the events for very little or no money. Check out the website: www.dcmetrominis.org as well as the message board there and get an idea what the club is all about.

Second that... I know for personal, recent experience with my GyPsy... brought the MINI in for a check up on the brake- only a check up... one month later the incompentent service department had no clue what they did to a perfectly functioning car to make inoperable.. so they began changing things:
Change master Cylinder, DSC box, brake booster... finally I had got so fed up I called the top people in NJ... (luckily for me I know them personally) and they sent a engineer down to figure out the mess... ii turned out they had order the wrong mc but once the correct one arrived MoA still couldn't get it right so the guy from NJ came down again and finally last Friday I got my Little One back (since March 6).

The new management is patetic ... they were nice to me because they got in hot waters with MINI USA ... although I am not finish with them , I won't take my MINIs there ...

I had them service three of my MINIs and three times they messed up so bad that one has to wonder if they should be in business...
I know TATE had issues but at least they did right by me - everytime- but MOA new management (which changed twice in the last 6 months) excalated the Annapolis incompentence at another level.. which is sad as they are 3 miles from my place .. and the new SA Robbie Nicosia (former Sterling) is very nice and professional.
