Maryland
Eldersburg, here. For those MDers who don't know where that is, southern tip of Carroll County, just north of Howard County and west of Baltimore County.
I see lots of MINIs driving around this area... any of them belong to you ??

There are some nice runs south of Annapolis in St. Mary's and Calvert counties. DCMM has planned numerous runs in the area and should have the routes. There are some nice restaurants and drive-ins in the area, Bert's on route 5 Mechanicsville and A & M Rootbeer on route 5 Calloway south of Leonardtown come to mind. They both welcome auto-clubs.
How about getting together some evening during the week at a place like Barnes and Noble in Long Gate shopping center. Those who want to can have a cup of coffee and we could borrow their maps to look at possible routes.
but cappuccino will do. I am coming from DC during the week so give enough time to go thru rush hour traffic in any case I am in.
Ok,...date....time...location. Let me know I'm in.
By the way, DCMM will have a dinner meet on Thursday, just in case anyone wants to join. I'll be there.
Actually, wine is good as well. Iron Bridge wine co. in Columbia is a good place for wine too.

I prefer a glass of wine
Pick. Evenings seem to be good for those interested. If you don't like my suggestion of Barnes and Noble let's do another place where getting together would be easy.
This week the weather seems to be quite good. How is Friday evening sounds?. Some place in Rockville, or Columbia?
I can make it most any evening this week. My preference would be to meet somewhere in the greater Columbia area. Rockville seems rather distant for a discussion on a Howard-Carroll County run. How about Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday around 7:30pm at either Barnes and Noble in Long Gate Shopping Center or Borders in Columbia Crossing Shopping Center.
I won't be able to attend the planning meeting but look forward to joining the group for the run. When you make the plan, I highly recommend including Route 77 between Thurmont and Smithsburg.
That is a great road for motoring. Lots of twisties and beautiful scenery. It runs right through the Appalachian Trail in the Catoctin Mountains. Absolutely gorgeous, especially in the Autumn (but we can't wait that long).
Here's just a little taste for you:

Hi Folks,
I am from the Windsor, Ontario area (across the river from Detroit) and will be in Baltimore from March 28- April 2nd. Please let me know if your club has anything planned that week. I would love to tour the area and see some of the local sites, especially with some fellow MINIacs. Thanks!!

Coffee and Mini in Columbia..
Is Friday night a good time for a good cup of coffee and talk about Mini?
If the answer is yes and you want to go out (if it's not too far for you, or if you love motoring), Barnes & Noble @ Long Gate shopping center (at the coffee lounge) in Ellicott city, Md. 7pm this Friday 2/23.

^ you know your motorin' routes, Maxicooper !
By the way, I was born and raised in Gettysburg. Great place to live (even in the summer when the tourist take over the town). If you've seen The Electric Map exhibit, I used to run that map when I was in high school.

Firm anything up last evening ? Date ? Route ? Both ? Neither because you spent too much time in the parking lot admiring all the MINIs ?
Thanks to those who took the time to meet and plan.
