Help with MTH ECU upgrade

I would like to do the MTH ECU upgrade on my 2004 MC and have read all the threads there is on this. But I wonder if there is someone close to me to help me through it. Such as a cable to borrow or a friend I can call when I start wondering on things.

Anyone?

I can't help any, but I'm really interested to know if it goes well (assuming that you go ahead with it)!

Can't really help with the cable, being in SoCal with a LOT of people wanting a piece of it (the cable that is) right now.

More than happy to help out with troubleshooting tips or just general discussion. I thoroughly recommend this mod.

PM me for contact details.

I will be going through with the mod for sure. If noone closer comes along I will purchase the cable and go at it alone. I have read the well writen thread by another member on this. I feel pretty confident on doing it myself, but help always helps.

If you want, I'm pretty close to Bowie (I'm in S. Alexandria), and I have a fairly good record of fiddlin' with stuff without breaking it. I'd be more than happy to provide any help that I can give, but it's just that I never went through an ECU upgrade before! I am good with computers though, so maybe I could help some.

PS - We met, haven't we? At the Bragging Rights & BBQ? I had the all Cosmos Black Cooper CVT...

PPS - If I remember correctly, doesn't the ECU reading program work best on a computer running Windows 98? If so, I have a laptop that I use to to gray market cell phone upgrades that should work well. I mean, upgrading a cell phones' firmware should be almost exactly like reading/upgrading an engines' ECU, right?

I'm interested in doing this mod as well.

I was going to post a thread to see if anyone wants to share the cost of the cable. If we get enough people the total cost could be a mere pittance compared to what the other companies are charging.

I'm a software engineer. I know my way around computers... lol...

I've been doing research on other boards and haven't heard anything bad.

Let me know when this is going down.

Well, I'm just south of Richmond VA, but I'll be glad to help if you can head down this way.

I've got the Sensolutions cable and a Win98 laptop. Just remember that it will take two visits - one to download the ECU and another to upload the MTH remap.

Alright more people! We could all get together and make a day of it. One for the download of the original and one for the MTH.

By any chance CoryB and kapolani are you members of DC Metro Minis (DCMM)? Were meeting at Tate Mini in Annapolis this saturday @ 9:30am. Maybe if you stopped by we could chat and figure out more details. Otherwise its back and forth in the forum.

CoryB, would you be interested in meeting some of us MD folks for the flashing? Since you have the equipment you could sure help us out.

I've been meaning to join the club, but haven't gotten around to making any of the meets. Soccer season is in full swing so my weekends are pretty full.

What is this meet @ Tate Mini this weekend about?

I'll try to make it if I can!

I'm not a member of DCMM as it's a bit far to drive on a regular basis for me. Richmond is about 2 hours from DC and I'm 20 minutes south of there.

I'd say our monthly get togethers at Tate are to get more members into the club. We chill, drink coffee, eat breakfast foods and check each others cars out. Its open to anyone.
