Need Info

Where do we signup is right. Went last year and had a great time at the auto-x on Saturday. The car show on Sunday was the best turnout of new MINIs and classic minis I have seen this past year in the east. I would like more info to be posted. Hope the turnout this here is even better.

newbs49, you have emails blocked, and I need to email the OcktCOOPER Fest registration to you as an attachment. Email me.

Glad to hear that you're already signed up for Lime Rock. There will be a number of MINIs attending. Here is a link to lots of motels in the Lime Rock Park area: http://www.limerock.com/directory_accom.htm

Great news about OctCooperFest 2004!

I was just speaking with someone about this years OctCooperFest, which is Saturday and Sunday, October 2 & 3 in Bridgewater, NJ. I was a participant in last year's event and it was excellent. This year, they are having the AutoCross at a MUCH BIGGER parking lot, so the course will be longer and even more fun!

If you've never AutoCrossed in your MINI, this is the place to try it. It's for everyone, from absolute beginner to expert. It is non-competitive (only one MINI allowed on the course at a time) and no pressure... you really get a feel for what your MINI can do. You can drive the course solo, or you can ask one of the seasoned pros to ride with you -- they can give advice to get the most out of your MINI at all points on the course. Everyone is friendly and it's a great time. Definitely check it out!

Registration forms available at:

Rock On,

Less than two weeks to register!!!

Event Dates are October 2 & 3, 2004 - Same venue as last year
Saturday is the Autocross at Somerset Patriots Ballpark
Sunday is the car show with lots of MINI vendors
See http://clubs.hemmings.com/miniownersofnj for more information and the registration forms. Or contact OcktCOOPERfest@aol.com

Remember that pre-registration helps an event planner have enough of whatever is needed for all that are participating. If we don't know you're coming, there is the possibility that the field will be full when you get there. Remember, especially, that the Autocross is limited to 60 cars.

We will be there. Is their any items that people might be interested in purchasing at the event?

Well a good time was had by all yesterday, though there weren't very many of us. Don't know how, but we had fewer people show up this year than last. I heard there was supposed to be a small contingent coming up from PhillyMINI, but they no-showed entirely. Guess they got lost in the wilds of NJ.

Thanks to Debbie and the Mini Owners of NJ (MONJ) for setting up this event again this year.

There were more vendors than last year as well, so hopefully the show will continue to grow. There was a great custom T-shirt vendor. I know several of us will now be sporting cool new car T-shirts.

The people's choice trophies are always the best part of the show. Each one is handmade with a lot of care and a sense of humor. And there were loads of great doorprizes again this year. Sway bars, spark plug wires, a glovebox organizer, a center console organizer, T-shirts, and more. Thanks to all the sponsors who donated!!

Congrats to cycleguru on his two trophies, and Nittany brought one home as well.

Hope to see many more of you at Ocktcooperfest 2005!

Gee, in spite of the generosity of the vendors, I didn't win any door prizes! Of course it didn't help that I put all of my tickets in the sway bar cup.....but heck, 25 tickets I shoud've won one of those sway bars! :? :? :P

Well, I had a great time. The autocross on Saturday was a blast, at least I picked up a couple of those cute trophy plaques. We had a good turnout of classics at the autocross, as well. We had our very own Eric of Helix, Dan Pilo, and the champion autocrosser Jeff Jacobs in attendance. Great to see you guys! And Larry, it was a pleasure to meet you.

Many thanks to Rich and Debbie Franks of The Mini Owners of New Jersey and all of their helpers. As was the case last year, they put on a great and fun event with lots of goodies being given away on Sunday.

Some really beautiful Classic Minis in addition to the MINIs made for a fantastic group of cars. Good seeing you all there!
