any mini friendly service areas around grand rapids-? my dealer in chicago when i bought the car told me that the local bmw dealer (sharp) could do warranty/manitance work- tis not the case, and they want $120 for an oil change.....

I was wondering the same thing. Do you know if Sharp BMW carries the filters in stock? According to Miniusa.com the nearest authorized dealer / service center is in Detroit.

anyone can do an oil change for you. Personally, I'd bring my own oil though ( and then watch them to make sure they use it! ). Filters can be bought on-line, or ordered over the phone from a friendly ( not MOTOR CITY MINI ) MINI dealer such as Classic in Mentor, OH.

 

Yes, it is still possible to fix that ECU. I’ve had mine done with a help of a technician friend who knows how to play-around with the ECU but, I we had different issues. There are numerous repair shops you can visit so you know if you could swap or repair your ECU.

I take mine (2008 Clubman S) to Euro Tech in Holland. They do good work. Oil Change for $70 (Synthetic and filter).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned GAS. I had them install my poly front sub frame and sway bar bushings and do an alignment. I typically change my own oil, but I have had GAS do one oil change on my Mini. They use all Castrol fluids. Great guys who do excellent work.

It's on the North side of GR. Just do a quick Google search for German Auto Service Grand Rapids.

 

I'm in the Kalamazoo area and use Kalamazoo Import Service on West Michigan Ave., I also take my BMW there. Mark is the owner and very honest.
About $80 for LOF with synthetic.
