It is with deep regret

Here's my plight. After 22 years of good, solid, uninterrupted employment in telecommunications and real estate I found myself out of work and I think this might be the worse time to find a job. I can't believe this is happening to me

Anyway, here are the details. I would like to simply cover my costs - there will be no profit to me. I will need MSRP plus $500, which is what I agreed to pay St. Louis MINI. The car is DS/B with the Premium and Cold Weather packages, Zenons, HK, fog lights and 16" wheels. It has anthracite interior and leatherette seats. The car MSRPs at about $23,255. The $500 dealer markup does include floor mats, dealer prep, full tank of gas.

Anyone interested should email me at http://www.david.nissen@geo-usa.com. or call me at 636-978-9050.

That sucks, MissouriMini! So, I take it that I didn't help at all... too bad.

Sorry to hear that...it certainly does stink about the job.

You should ALSO take a look at the fine print of your order contract and perhaps contact your state's attorney general/consumer affairs division to check to see if you can be released from your contract (and get your deposit back) given the circumstances. Check this FIRST before contacting the dealer. Then, even if it looks like they have the right to hold you to the deal, talk to them about getting out. Frankly, they'd have to be real jerks to want to keep your money under the circumstances. If you can't afford payments, then what would be the good in their just taking your deposit? Hopefully they'll see it this way and you'll be off the hook.

For what it's worth, my dealer (in NY) said that job loss was one of the few ways that they'd let someone out of the order contract. Of course, that was 6 months ago when there were a few more MINI buyers out there...

Damn economy.

MissouriMini,
I'm so sorry about your job. I do know the last time I was at MINI of STL they had several people that were looking for the MCS & didn't want to wait. A friend of mine in the Miata club has a MC but wants to add a MCS to his collection of cars. I can contact him & see if he is interested. It would seem the dealer would be willing to work with you given the circumstances. Good Luck

xpcdoojk,
I am a little confused. What help are you talking about? Did you send me an email? If so, I didn't get it? Again, I am at david.nissen@geo-usa.com. I am still looking for work so I can keep the MCS, but, as indicated by my new posting, it is not going well. Please clarify because I know you know people in my industry (telecom and real estate). Thank you for your help whatever is was and is. By the way, when are you leaving for your trip? Is there anything I can do like take you to or from the airport of help you on your Mini delivery?

Hi MissouriMini... I am not big about posting email addresses on the net, but since it isn't mine, and I am not 100% sure it is correct... and apparantly, my companies mail server doesn't like your email address here it is... rbobb@truebroadband.net his name is Ross Bopp he is one of the founders of Gabriel. I know he did real well when they sold Gabriel, and I know that my nephew who worked for him at Gabriel thought he was in the process of doing another startup...

As far as a lift to the airport. Suppossedly, Tony at the dealer is going to drop us off. I hate to waste 200$ parking my car for 3 weeks... so theoretically I should be good. We fly from St. Louis on the 27th and fly back on the 19th.
