It says original BMW part? I have never heard of this! Has anyone else? I have never seen this spoke of on mini2 or NAM

I just can't imagine needing a light to tell me when to shift. I seem to do it by feel and the whine of the engine. As a last resort, I use my tach. . . .

But for someone who likes extra gizmos, this is a cool genuine JCW part!

If you can install it in your line of sight, and if it's bright enough, it makes a lot of sense for a track car. There are occasions when a visual indication of a shift point are definitely beneficial. For a street car, it's more of a gadget. But lots of people like gadgets.

I plan on getting one from Cooper Garage. I think it will be a nice thing to have on a track car. Sometimes it gets a bit busy and it is better to have your eyes on the track and not on your tach.
