Wow they are nice.. what's the weight on them? And would they need some hubs/rings (not sure what it's called).. to plug into the mini??

Thanks

Weight on the rims is roughly 18-19lbs. They are kinda heavy but thats how all the Volk GT series are. My old GT-P's weighed like 21lbs. As far as bolting them up to a mini, I dont belive you'd need anything. I've seen people use the hub rings and I've also see people not use them. i've never used them on my civic and I've had 5 sets of rims.

This looks like a great deal, but I think the +36 offset might be a bit of a turn-off. That's pretty aggressive for a MINI - might even require some fender well liner trimming.

So on a lowered MINI, would +36 then guarantee rubbing??

How hard would it be to fix that rub??

I don't know. I've heard of folks going with an aggressive offset like this and having little/no trouble, but some of us have had rubbing with seemingly less aggressive set-ups. It seems like the only correct answer to your question is either "maybe" or "it depends."

I had slight rubbing with 17x7 and +42 offset, but I also had larger 215-45-17 tires. These come with 205-40....will that eliminate the problem? I don't know, but it might....hopefully others will chime in and answer the question, but you can find all sorts of anecdotal information from others in the tire and wheel forum.

The simplest solution to rubbing I've heard of is taking a dremel to the plastic lining in the fender well. I know I saw a "how-to" on it somewhere on NAM. I think you'll find that others have posted about running similar set-ups with little/no trimming required though so don't pass this excellent deal up on my account; search around a bit for an answer in the right forum.

They COULD rub, but I doubt they will. On civics they recommend that you run +40/+43 offset and I'm running these with out any issues. The 205 helps alot and if they were to rub you would have to be pretty low. I'm tucking the tires on the fronts with no rubbing.

I need to sell these and they are in perfect shape.

stock S-lites on mini have a +48mm offset. No rubbinng on stock height, but not sure when the car is lowered.. On a Mini it rubs on the back with lower offset wheels.. 205/40 tire helps, but it's about 3.5% smaller than stock.

How low do most of you guys go? These really shouldn't be too much of an issue unless you're hamemred. I'm barely tucking in the rear and they don't rub, but then again the civic has a little bit different set-up.

most seem to drop somewhere between 1"~1.5"..

With 205/40/17 there should be very minimal rubbing.. Like I said, not sure how it will be on the side of the tire because of the low offset, But a little dremel should cure it.
