<WTB> JCW pulley

<WTB> JCW "stock" pulley that was removed for smaller pulley. Has to be straight and undamaged.

PM me if you have something available

There probably are... Though hard to find.

JCW parts are often sold in kits, such as the pulley. And most JCW owners likely don't want to risk upgrading to a 17-19% for the tiny performance gain vs. risk of something going wrong.

And those that have, may also want to keep the JCW pulley, to put it back on to return the car to 'stock'.

Just some FYI, good luck on finding one.

I can think of a couple jcw cars he has changed the pulley on.

I think he only had one he was willing to part with, I have no idea what he charged for it but steve is always very fair with his prices.

So J Propane did you get one from him ?

I wounder if the dealer would see the jcw part and have no problems warrenting the car versus an alta 15% one? You should probably order the V belt for it too I would bet.

I seriously doubt the dealer would notice that you had a jcw pulley even if they looked at it. Unless its next to another stock pulley its hard to tell.

So then if the dealer didn't notice the pulley at all they couldn't claim that you were trying to void your supercharger warrenty by using a smaller pulley? and if somehow they did you could claim, hey it was a JCW part? Sounds like a great idea. The only problem I see with this is the need to have it professionally installed versus the alta one which seems like anyone can install.

VERY INTERESTING!

Detlman, thanks again for your assistance. I`m sure one day we`ll even-out the score.

I just called Steve (I didn`t have a chance before, I am away on vacation) and we sorted everything out.

Since somebody beat me to it first, Steve says you can all keep on calling for business but he has no more of these that are available for sale.

Thanks!

JP

that sucks, its too bad someone scavenged you out of the pulley since I had set it up for you.

Whoever got the pulley should sell it to you since its not right that they called and got the only one that was slated for you. That is one thing that bugs me on nam sometimes.

As for buying one from mini you would have to buy the whole supercharger and I dont think you can even do that.

And for switching and warantee, I guess that is up to the person who is modding their car to sort out.

Indeed you can buy these parts seperatly, it would not make sense that entire package would have to be purchased together. For instance, say you got in an accident, and somehow, some way the pulley itself was only damaged, the body shop which did the repairs would have to be able to buy it by itself, or if say the supercharger broke down by itself, it would have to be available for seperate replacement.

My point is, get in good with the parts guy, and the skys the limit. Slip him a $50.00 for a "Christmas gift" or "Holiday gift" and next time you go in and need a weird part you shouldn't have a problem. I used to go to another BMW dealership where I was their so often I knew everyone their and their kids, I even went on a picnic with the staff one time, I could have any weird part I wanted, even if it was listed "only with purchase of...." or "not available seperatly" just need to grease the wheels a bit is all.

Everything is cool Brian, Steve took very good care of me. I`ll get back to him when I`m back home.

Right, So does anyone know of a parts dept willing to make the cash selling just the pulley?

Thats rough.....Like stated before......You can only get that JCW pulley WITH the SC....Im yet to see my wholesale shops or even my own body shop order a SC from us.

You cant use a 16% for what your trying to do?

If anything....Take a stock one to a machine shop and have them cut it down to the size your looking for.
