Feeler: Volk GT-7 17x7 with 215/40 RT615s

Just looking to see if there's interest..
I have a set of Volk GT-7s (gunmetal center with polished lip) in 17x7 with +36mm offset. with Falken Azenis RT-615s in 215/40 mounted and road force balanced on a hunter gsp9700 machine.
There is no rubbing with the car at stock height.
less than a month old, but the wheel's lip has been refinished recently because of damage to the clear coat.
I keep regretting that I should have gone with 18's..
Total cost $2300 (with mounting and balancing)
will let go for $1,700 (price I paid for wheels only)
*includes Volk GT series center caps.

How heavy is each rim? Also, can you clarify exactly why the lip had to be refinished?

How much do you think shipping to 95206 will be?

thanks

my guess would be around 20 pounds per wheel.
lip was refinished because car wash guy sprayed chemicals on a hot wheel.. and it etched the clear coat on the lip. The center piece was not affected.
shipping to CA will run roughly $150

I hope they (carwash place) paid for the damages.. I'm planning on getting coilovers in a month or so, will this setup make my car rub?

thanks

Yes. Car Wash paid for refinishing.
It will most likely need some fender well trimming if lowered, but you never know since by looking at it right now, I don't think it will rub unless the car is dropped excessively. 215-40 tires is a bit smaller in diameter.

Can you confirm the weight? 20 pounds sounds abnormally heavy for a Volk wheel. Are they forged or cast?

You know, when I was looking into Volks and other Rays Wheels I was suprised just how heavy some were, esp the multi-piece ones.

They are forged.
Two piece GT series are usually heavier than other one piece forged wheels.
I'll see if I could find an exact weight, but don't expect anything near the 13lbs range.

*Just got off the phone with mackin industries(US distributor for Rays wheels) and they said it is around 17lbs.

not if you're comparing apples to apples, all multi-piece wheels are inherently heavier than monoblock ones. I think its fair to say Ray's forged monoblock are lighter than almost all forged wheels, and their multipiece are lighter than most multi-piece forged wheels. even their cast wheel series g-games are pretty light (18" in 19lb).
