Bob,

Did the package come from the US Postal Service or was it delevered by DHL?

Mine came via USPS, it doesn't say DHL any where on it. It looks like it was shipped from baum automobile via Deutsche Post Euro Express.

Kelly,

not sure how the box came as I had it delivered to my work and my mailroom delivered it. The box has a Deutsch Post label on it. As I remember it the package would be turned over to the USPS once it left Germany.

Glad they are making their way to this side of the pond!

BTW - The German fellow working with us told me that DHL is actually owned by the German Post Office. I didn't know that...

If that means anything to anyone, let me know....

Uhmm.....

Never mind.

Got It!!!

I just got my box with the armrest. It looks great and can't wait to install it.
Obviously there is some confusion. I don't think DHL is involved in this at all. It was mailed via the German postal service and it was delivered by the US postal service. The packing slip shows it was shipped on 4/5/05 so it took about 21 days to get here.

Hope everobody gets theirs okay

Got Mine Too!!

Hi Everyone!

I got my arm rest today in the mail too!! If the email from the seller was sent the day he mailed my package is true...mine was shipped on the 14th of April and got to me in Orange County California in 12 days (19 days if you count all the days trying to get the wire out). Anyone who ordered after the seller got Paypal should probably get there shipments faster. DrDave and Goaljnky, did you get yours yet? I hope so!

Armrest Installed, Pictures

Installed it last night quite easily in about 20 minutes.
In my opinion, it was definately worth the money and wait. It looks excellent and it's very comfortable. Lets you rest your arm while shifting without any problems.

So I went to check the mail today (I live in an apartment complex) and in my box was a note that said:

"You have a package in the office"

WHOO HOO! I had to hurry as it was 5:58 and they close at 6.
"Could you give me my package before you close?" YES! They would!

They couldn't find it! So then they tried by name, and she still couldn't find it!!!! She's going to look tomorrow and call me. Now I have to wait over 24 hours

Hang in there goaljnky!!! If drdave got his yesterday you should probably have yours today or Monday. All the east coasters got theirs one day before me here in SoCal. I bet yours and his were on the same ship and it was delayed or had a different route. If it helps....I have mine, but I don't have the tools to install it, so mine is sitting in my living room (actually standing in my living room...my little ET ). Let us know.

Jerry,

Hang in there. I've got my fingers crossed that it arrives today. The good news is that the installation was quick.

Thanks again for finding the auctions on eBay. You saved us all.

Well they found the package this morning and it was in great condition. Both the box and the armrest.

It took a little longer for me to install, as I had a heck of time getting the front bolts off. The back bolts took a little less grunt.

Long story short, it's in, it looks great and it only took me around 1/2 an hour!

Thanks goaljnky! I hope yours arrives very soon!

Kelly: If I didn't go out and buy the tools to take my cup holder out when I first picked up the car, I would probably be in the same spot as you! Get to Lowes or Home Depot! STAT! Enjoy!

Our local PO has mine, but will have to wait until Monday to pick it up. We are going out of town tomorrow, but it's HERE!

Yay!

goaljnky - you thought of e-mailing the people? There has to be a hang up somewhere...

Ohh, for crying out loud.

Yeah, I got about $40 worth of phone calls to Germany now. They are being real nice and promising to send another one if I don't get mine by the end of next week. They are stating a ship date of 4/2/05. Damn, that's 4 weeks ago.

We have our priorities, right?

Had to promise I would take my wife to the beach tomorrow, "Sam" comes first.

Just kidding - it's suppose to rain all day today, and tomorrow is suppose to be nice. Top down weather.

I picked up the armrest and it was installed in less than 20 minutes. It looks like it belongs, and is a nice piece. To those waiting for their's - it is worth the wait.

Took 20 minutes to install, used Loctite to re-install bolts as instructions recommend. Probably no need to do so as they weren't Loctited to begin with. Nice rest, good finish, good height and the steel legs are not noticeable if the front seats are back enough. There is some interference with the emergency brake and seat back adjusters, though. The armrest can be folded up, out of the way, but then the contents of the storage compartment are tossed about.

Also don't like the fact that the lid won't open far enough on its hinge to stay open by itself.
