Does anyone know if when this seller says he'll ship DHL for about $50.00 (U.S.), is that overnit, or would it take a week, 10 days, or..? (He's not specific)

I would venture a guess that an overnight international DHL for a package that size would be much more expensive. It is probably a 4-5 day delivery.

I would check on the seller in a day or two. He usually lists them in batches of 5.

I received the email back from the seller with all the information. I took the email to my bank (Bank of America) and they cannot tell me what all the numbers are with the exception of the Swift #. Can anyone provided a breakdown of what the Konto Nr., BLZ, IBAN and KSK Ahrweiler are? Any help to get this wire out by those before me whould be helpful. Thanks!!

I sent you a PM. Funny, I am also with B of A. The branch by my work was also clueless. However the one my wife went to knew exactly what to do. They are located in a more industrial area.

Anyway, good luck. Let us know when you receive yours.

Thanks for the PM goaljnky it was very helpfull to determine what numbers were what!! I did some research on-line before returning to my bank. So I was armed with all the information I needed. For anyone following me and buying this item the sellers bank SWIF# can be researched at www.bicdirectory.swift.com This will give you the banks full name and address. The IBAN number provided by the seller can be decoded at www.XE.com with the IBAN Decoder tool. Basiclly this number contains the Country Code, IBAN Check Digits, Bank Code (AKA BLZ#), and the customers account number (AKA Konto Nr.). The process was much soother the second time at the bank since I had a bit more knowledge then on my first trip.

This seller must be getting used to all the american business because I had an email from him this morning with all the information needed. I will let everyone know when I get my shipment. Thanks again to all that helped me with the process!

Having mine hand delivered

I have a brother who lives in Germany. He's having the armrest sent to him, and will deliver it to me in May when he visits.

Are there any other cool things available only in Germany that I should send him looking for? (He lives near a MINI dealer.)

NAM buying power.

I guess the seller in Germany got enough business from us that he has now changed his listing to include English keywords in the header and an entire column in English for the description. He also added a special section for shipping to U.S.

I guess money does talk.

It is finally done.

All,

Just thought I would let you know that I finally got all of the wire and banking info straightened out. My armrest will ship out Monday via DHL. Hopefully it will only take about a week to get here.

Just a side note. I decided to post the info about the armrests being available via ebay on MINI2 and received negative feedback. People are leary of the wire transfer I guess. Well we will be the lucky few with the infamous MINI armrests.

Hope eveyones armrest arrives safe and sound.

Happy Motoring.

Bob

I had a little more trouble last week. The seller sent me an email that said he only received 155.50 EUR into his account and that my bank must have kept the extra 20 EUR. I went to my bank at lunch Friday and straighted this out. The transfer from my bank sent the complete 175.50 EUR but a receiving bank took out the extra 20 EUR. As my bank explained it to me, there was supposed to be an extra charge to me that would have prevented the receiving bank from being able to take any money out of the transfer. I had already paid $38 but they said it should have been $58 to prevent this. They did not charge me any more money to send the extra 20 EUR since it was their oversight.
Hopefully this transaction will finally be completed.

I am not an expert on international finance and banking, but that explanation sounds fishy.

Is KSK Ahrweiler the name on the account? My bank won't do the wire without knowing the name on the account.

Hello,

KSK(Kreissaprkasse) refers to the bank name and Ahrweiler is the city. Below is a link to the bank in Germany. The name of the company is Baum Automobile. Send me a PM if you would like the name and contact info at the bank in Germany.

Same thing happened to me. Back to the bank I go. Anyone purchasing this item should be aware that the seller's bank is charging him extra for the incoming wire (approximately $20 US) over and above the 7.5 EUR he thinks is being charged make sure you talk to your bank about this and either have your bank verify with the German Bank or send an extra $20 US.

I went to my bank and they are not helpful at all!! They told me that they would have to charge me another wire fee of $35 to send a $20 wire and then I'm sure there would be bank charges on the seller's end as well so I would have to send additional $$ to cover that. I have emailed the seller to see if there is a way I can send an money transfer via Western Union. I did some research and there is a Western Union office less then 1.5 kilometers from the Baum Automobile location. The cost to send the money via western union is approximately $15.00 with no charges on the other side. I will let you know what he says. I would think that if this is accetable that anyone purchasing this item should see if they can send the money via Western Union instead of wire to his bank. ahhhhh the joys of international finance. I wired him around $225.00 a few days ago so I hope I'm covered and he shipped the darn thing. (Sure gets pricey...)I think this guy should get wiser, start accepting PayPal and make everybody's lives easier. (I'm sure we'd gladly pay a few extra bucks for the item to cover his fees..)

Thanks for keeping us posted!

NEWS FLASH!!! You can apparently pay them through PayPal now. I got an email from them this morning and was told I could pay the remaining $15.86 EUR through PayPal. Have no idea if they just learned about this option or not. So I think I'm all set and my armrest should be shipped soon. I will keep everyone posted.

Glad to see someone has already benefited from all the previous transactions!! (learning curve complete) This seller seems to be on top of his game. Within a week or so he has gone from wire transfers that cost the US buyer $$ to opening a PayPal account which cost nothing and you can send the payment instantly in Euros. I can't wait to get my armrest...hope it gets here soon! Anyone in the US recieved theres yet?

I emailed them last night to get my tracking number and got the exact answer MINIMZD got. They said they received my wire but need another another $15.00, (but they don't give a reason why, but it's gotta be their bank fee..)

Yes, they said it can be done with PayPal. So far, my total cost is $256.67,
the auction ended on March 31st, today is April 13th, and I'm still trying to get it shipped. Since I wnet this far, I'll continue but transaction has been a royal pain. Hope the armrest is worth it...
