02 MCS with lots of extras & low miles FS

02 MCS, pure silver with black roof/mirrors, no "packages", only 3 non-standard options on this car: metalic paint, Xenon lights, heated seats. Space Grey cloth, tinted windows, Turner Motorsport Stage II kit (215hp), H&R springs, AP Racing big brake kit, 17" OZ's, Kumho MX's, Aero upper/lower grill, Mini rubber mats. This car is perfect, pampered, and has never been a daily driver. Only 14k miles. Over $30k invested, must sell $21k.

Why do some people try to tell other people how much their cars are worth?....please don't mess with his sale....by typing that statement you are setting people's minds, to offer a way lower price or to not get any offers at all !!!. This is the second time you've done this. Let the owners set their own prices, and trust me on this....if they don't get any offers, they will lower the price. May be you are trying to help but the best way is to PM the seller and not to do it in public...Just my 0.12 cents !!!!. I'm putting mine for sale and I'm asking for $26,000, for an '04 JCW fully loaded with 6000 miles on it and about $3000 worth of suspention, wheels, stereo, CAI, and seat upgrades, is that too high?, if it is oh well....but please refrain from doing this....

MINISPIDER, it's a public forum, he's entitled to add his opinion as long as he's within the site guidelines. If you don't like it, that's too bad. Just my $.02

It simply bugs the heck of out many NAM members when they see a Mini Cooper listed for WAY OVER true market value, especially when a buyer can order a brand new, never driven 2005 Cooper for MSRP with a lower new car financing rate to boot! NAM members do not care what YOU paid for your Mini, most simply want to see realistic asking prices in the marketplace for the vehicle. I think it's as simple as that. The seller that gets "hosed" the most on resale are the MCS owners with the $5,000.00 JCW kit installed. If they paid $24,000 for a loaded MCS, then had a $5K + JCW kit installed, they automatically think the car is worth a $29,000.00 asking price. NO WAY!!!

I agree with MINISPIDER, It doesnt matter if he is asking $30,000 its his car and if you are interested in it then make him a lower offer if not WHAT DOES IT MATTER TO YOU? An opinion isnt going to lower his price only an interested buyer.

I posted the car for $21k because everyone seems to haggle, honestly I am looking to get $19k out of it. If I posted the ad for nineteen, I guarantee I would have people offering sixteen for it... Its just the way it goes. I appreciate the input and comments, but I tend to agree Minispider that a PM would be more appropriate.

We all wish you the best of luck selling your Mini! You should be able to $19K out of it...especially with low miles such as yours

Try www.craigslist.net if you haven't already. Free to post...btw, since you have a some quality performance parts, maybe you can trade for some stock parts(unless you have them, and then you should consider putting them back on) and get some cash to boot for it. You'll find it much easier to sell a non modded cooper because the most of the mods make no difference to the majority buyers of ANY car. If fact, it might turn off a few because it might indicate a hard life. And some people want to do the mods themselves.

Great price. If my truck were sold I'd be buying a one way ticket to pick it up. Great mods for the right person (me). Unfortunately that is what you need, it will scare some off.

You're in the ballpark

Welcome to the Internet where everyone is an expert...with help
Edmunds (I find it the most reliable) says your car is worth $21k if sold by a dealer and $19k if you sell it yourself. Seems as if you were in the guidelines anyway.
Bottom line it's only "worth" what someone else will pay. Good luck in selling. I'm looking for a 02 Cooper, plain jane for my daily driver and I only want to pay $12-14 (see everyone has a price)
But I do agree, if you don't want to pay it, don't post "it's not worth" unless in private.
Mine is worth $23 if I sell it...for that price...not a chance, I'll keep her

Good luck in finding that deal. LOL

Look guys, pricing is regional. Edmunds may or may not be correct, depending on the market. Here in NorCal we are paying a premium for Minis, and that's just the way it is. I just posted mine for $24.9 / offer. That may be too high for other markets. It's about right for NorCal. For someone in Florida to claim the price is too high when the seller is in California is just plain silly. Florida people have no idea what our market is like out here, and vice versa.

Also, this is probably the worse place to sell a Mini (I will be shocked if a real buyer finds my car here.) Better to market your car through Yahoo autos, Craigs list, or some other entity that reaches are large audience. I've had my best success on Yahoo. For some reason Yahoo attracts motivated, highly qualified buyers. I've sold two cars, sight unseen on Yahoo in recent years.

Monkey_boy, you posted it for 24.9k..any bites? I am curious what the local selling price is..and I know we pay a premium because of the long wait (one year for me).

Anyway, post some stats on your car if you can.

thanks.

p.s. NAM is a great place to sell your parts..

Is this Mini still on the market? It looks as though I am trading in my truck tonight for a new vehicle for the wife and have a buyer for her car so I'll be looking ASAP.

This car is tentatively sold to me. We're finalizing the paperwork at this point. Hopefully it will be making the trip east soon.

And FWIW, I've always thought that if you're not a potential buyer you should keep your nose out of people's threads - especially the "it's not worth that" comments.
