I will soon be listing a beautiful 2007 British Racing Green (with rare green top), factory John Cooper Works, with roughly 47k miles. Coincidentally, this past summer we flew out to LA to buy the car from a very nice long term owner in Playa Del Ray.
Contact me if you'd like more info. The *only* reason for sale is that I have 5 supercharged JCW MINIs currently, including a higher mileage R52 for my long term collection that happens to be in a more rare color! I need to make room in the garage!
Thank you for reaching out and mentioning your upcoming sale. I'm giving up leverage by telling you that I'm already salivating. Being of Irish ancestry, the color combination caught my eye.
However, if my knowledge serves me, this would most likely be a 6-speed Manual transmission and I am strictly searching for an Automatic. And now I feel even worse for knowing that this will never be in my garage.
I have a, Silver/Red 2016 MINI Countryman JCW ALL4 (67K miles) that I'm looking to sell. Would it be wise to post on here vice taking what a CarMax, or the like, would offer?
Thanks for the response! Yes indeed, all of my cars are 6 speed manuals- and you're correct about the JCW's of this era being manuals.
I would certainly at least try listing the Countryman here first, as it's free and the audience (although somewhat sparse) is the right target (especially considering the low miles and JCW ALL4 option). I would probably stay far away from CarMax or Carvana unless you're extremely desperate to get rid of it. A private sale on Craigslist would be another good place to start ($5). Dare I say FB marketplace (I'm not on FB, but have bought cars there through referrals from friends, including the green R52 above!).
I had one like that with chrome side mirrors, chrome hood scoop and chrome rollover bar with Navy Blue/Burnt Orange sets. And then a young, distracted girl bumped into my right rear. It blasted her '24 Mazda SUV while barely doing any damage to mine. However, the sketch insurance/body shop relationship resulted in a TOTAL, which is why I was shopping.
I ended up with an Ice Blue R57 with 75K miles for $10,400.

can't go wrong with the r57/r58..
The OOOOONLY mini onpar with the r50-r53
Congrats on the R57 find @JohnCWorks ! Hope you enjoy it. I just started a very similar search: preferably R52 (JCW or S) and considering R57 (JCW or S), except I DO want the 6-speed manual, so the JCW would be ideal!
I had an R53 (Chili Red, Slicktop with the Union Jack on top, 6-speed) from about 2014-2018. It was an awesome car that I would have loved to keep forever, but life/family changes meant I wasn’t going to have much opportunity to use it much. Now life has brought me back to a spot that I can find another MINI. So I’m kicking off the search and finally joining NAM.
@Chamberlin1 and @msjulie33 I will PM you as soon as I can figure out how to unlock PM privileges!
