Mini Cooper Countryman 2011 - 2016
Description:

This is still my favorite Mini chassis/platform (despite not owning one).  And the 3rd or 4th time I've done this for the R60.  Original kit(s) details HERE.  This time the package is only for the front end.  (I refuse to keep putting work into 280mm, non-vented rear end ;-p)

Application:

  • R60 Countryman (’11-‘16) – 5x120 lug, 79mm CB

Front:
  • Calipers: OEM GP2/135i units - REFINISHED - OEM motif: Mold seams shaved, artwork is painted on using catalyzed high-temp urethane.  (Flush,no raised letters)
  • Rotors: 2x Brembo 350 x 25mm - NEW - Dimpled in Brembo 32-row pattern (mirrored/directional)
  • Lines: 2x Custom stainless braided lines - NEW - w/ PVC sheath and 90*swivel end
  • Brackets: Custom worked for the 350mm rotors and R60 spindle
Notes:
  1. Make sure your wheels will clear the front 6-piston units. Dust shields may need trimmed or removed to fit the massive front binders. You can use the GP2 template by matching up the OD’s of the two center bores.
  2. GP2 TEMPLATE
  3. Wear sensor, and fluids are not pictured or provided.
  4. **Ensure that your installer (if you're not a wrench) will install aftermarket parts.**

I wish I could get that kind of money right now...maybe if I can sell my GTI.
GLWS! Hopefully you'll have one for sale around next February! I definitely would take it.

I know I could google it, but does anyone know what a set of fronts only would go for new? Thx

You'd be paying much more, that's for sure. They are custom fit for the R60 as they never made a set for it. A Set of GP R56 brakes by themselves are more than what's listed here, $2500-3700 depending on where purchased...and the work to get them to fit would be on top of that. You could get some used 135I calipers and refinish them for cheaper but it will still be more than what's listed in the end.

Thanks for the info, @Raymo2u . Gotcha, so even thought these are custom, they use standard Brembo parts so finding those if needed for repairs wouldn't be a hassle, correct?

This is a great brake option for the bigger R60 platform. The part that’s most custom here is the mounting bracket. Then, add in the time to refinish and rebuild the calipers. Rotors are off the shelf, and Chris can give you the make and model for replacement.

This is a solid kit.

Would love to know the P# for those caliper brackets and what needs to be done to them to make them fit. Also make/model those rotors are originally meant for.
