It seems like the report I did on that user worked. The user tried to negotiate outside the forums via text and was taking images of your wanted items from Google.

I was surprised the account lasted for at least 3 months (looking at the joined date), but I'm glad that scammer is banned now.

He contacted me also about a wanted ad, but then ghosted me when I called him out about the pictures he sent. Always be cautious about a user trying to sell without any posts!

Replied to one of my 'Wanted to Buy' listings, and came across as an obvious scammer. I posted an alert and thought the mods would ban him immediately, but guess that didn't happen. Anybody placing a Wanted to Buy ad needs to be very careful when dealing with responses from newly registered users. I'm sure he'll be back under a different name soon, and he's not the only one for sure!

An easy way to protect yourself, is to request specific pictures on items being offered for sale. I've seen it on other forums, if there is no way to see the item personally before money changes hands, request a picture with today's date and some identifying mark hand written on a piece of paper next to the item being offered. If any respectable person has the actual item in hand, it should be an easy request. If I get push back, my scam-meter starts to rise.

I never thought to report this dude to the forum police, but I'll keep it in mind for the next time.

I was a little suspect of him rite off the bat, no posts, new account, no transactions. Asked him for pictures and then his account was banned, someone should report this to the authorities, he is probably doing this on other forums as well.

Might be nice to hook him up with the Nigerian prince who has 18 million bucks he wants to send me…or maybe offer him a couple dozen email subscriptions for casual reading in return.

I was able to bait out the scammer's Venmo username when I knew it was a scam. Stay away from Venmo username "Cindy-babe59" or name "Cindy Schlorke"
