Meeting Archive
I will probably be free Sunday after 1:00 so if we do anything in the afternoon i can probably make it.
Sunday at 1pm is good with me. Lunch of donuts??
I don't mind meeting there, but I'd rather go somewhere else for lunch.
There are so many restaurants in that area, I'm sure we can find something for everyone. Qdoba, Arby's, Jim & Nick's, Fatz, Buffalo Wind Wings, Center Point Grill, Panera, Chili's, Sbbaro's, Wendy's, etc, etc, etc.

So is Dunkin Donuts the plan? I can probably show up about 1:30ish. I would like to go ahead and apologize for whatever my behavior might be because by that point I will already have been pounding Guinness since 8AM.
Yes, Dunkin Donuts at 1pm. I don't see us hanging out in a 10x20 room of donuts for an hour, so if we are not there then look around the Tanger Area. Buffalo Wild Wings, Centre Pointe Grill, Golden Coral, etc.
Hi Jim. As with any group, it is what you make of it.
The 3-5 of us who typically meet are car guys, so we typically just hang out, eat, discuss modifications, and tell stories. Autocrosses are also very popular events that everyone goes to regularly (except me).
Join us for lunch some time. It's always a very informal Meet and Eat.
I'm pretty sure I'll get a kayak this year, so I'll be looking for some help making a custom kayak trailer. I'll start with a base trailer from Northern or Harbor Freight, but after that it will be custom. I already have a MINI-Do-More hitch installed.

Chad, what are the chances of another mod & meet in the next 2 months? The last one had a great turnout, we even had the Subaru guys turning up. Plus I'm getting the itch for another mod and its more fun to install it with everyone around, hopefully the ones who don't already have it will catch the mod bug.
sounds like a great idea (once it warms up a bit and doesn't rain everytime I wash my car
)
I've got a few things to do, mirror caps, pulley, grill..........
maybe breakout the grill and burgers, a few brews, make a day of it

I know some of the local people meet up on the third Sunday of the month but I haven't made it yet. It is hard for me to make it on Sundays. If anyone wanted to meet up at another time I might be able to make it more often. However I need to get my car put back together first.

Also, is anyone here planning on going up to ATL for the MTTS 2010 event? I was planning on joining the Rick Hendrick festivities too but I may be TDY and might even miss MTTS but hopefully not.
Not sure who's "in charge" but I've spoken briefly with Chad of Total MINI & BMW and he seems pretty knowledgable about the local MINI scene. I'd say for now we just pick a time and place an post it on the boards to let people know where and when and see who shows.
I don't know who is in charge but I'm up for a meet. If Chad gets my fan in today hopefully I will have my ride back together by Friday. Someone suggest a time and day and then put it out there and see how many can attend. I noticed the group in Charlotte has someone who plans Drives where everyone meets then goes on some stretch of road and then they have lunch or dinner at the end. Some of the ones that can't make the drive will show up for breakfast or the meal after the drive. However they are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway though. I was up in the mountains last week with the family but I didn't have my ride so I abused my wifes car on the curves. Can't wait to take the mini back. I lived in Chas all my life but I really can't think of a whole lot of places to cruise to. Boy I have got to get out more!! Hopefully we can get something going around here.
I think the reason the Sunday thing started is it was always the same 3-5 of us showing up and Sunday afternoon was what worked best. Not that we can't change that. As far as the MINI scene down here, its a long story. Chadtoolio can add more than I can, but basically it seems like whenever we get on a big kick to get a lot more people showing up, it works for about 2 weeks. It's not the people on this board, its easy to get us to show up to an event. If you want MINI enthusiasts who actually want to hit the track, mod the car a little, or go on an event that doesn't involve the dealership...we're all in this thread already. We just need to figure out a way to get those other 50 MINI's you pass every day involved.
How about Wednesday after work? 6:30pm, maybe some pizza? Famulari's pizza in Summerville is delicious! Hopefully my car is available! Someone in a Suburban scuffed the back left side on my MINI while at work today! I have only had her 12 days today! :(
I missed it if it was yesterday. And unfortunately next week I'm going to be out of town on Wed. But I should be back in time for the rallies starting Friday. Anyone planning on joining any of the Rick Hendrick or MTTS events?
