JCW dash

I went by the dealer today and saw a JCW leather dash--anthracite leather with red thread highlights. Very special, and goes well with CR car and red cloth/leather seats. But it's nearly $900 for the dealer to install (!) More Craptastic crap.
It looked nice though.

Gabe installed it on his own, and did a write up on MotoringFile. Seems easy enough for the layperson to do it.

Don't pay the dealership to install a dash. It really is as easy as pulling the panels off and popping the other ones back on (OK, you also have to unscrew two screws to get the tachometer off, but other than that...).

Edit: this is 05 and 06 only. It requires a bit more work in the earlier models...

Its because of the priciness of all those extra bits that our dealer has an '05 JCW sitting in their showroom that can't sell...they added EVERY JCW bit possible and the car is listed at ~$42K!

Funny, I just bought some leather today at the upholstery remnant shop for my downtubes. Screw JCW, I'll do it myself. Looks good though, mine will lack the stitching of course. Hope it turns out good.
