Thinking of an 05 w JCW

I know I'm nuts but I'm thinking of ordering an 05 black on black MCS and adding the full JCW kit to it. Of course I would get the LSD.

Naah! I don't think your nuts. I know you have had some problems with your car. I had a modded '03 MCS, which I totally liked. I now have an '05 JCW, which I totally love. It is totally different than going aftermarket, but also a lot of fun. I personally feel (many others do as well, but some would argue) that the JCW feels much better than a lot of aftermarket tuned MCS's. The power seems much better in the mid-range, which is where we do a lot of our driving, and it is very smooth. Also, the black on black is pretty cool. A lot of maintenance, but when kept up, it looks really neat. The '05 by itself is miles apart from my '03, in quality, feel, and power, let alone the JCW kit. I live in Atlanta as well, so if you are interested in checking one out, drop me a PM and maybe we can meet up somewhere and you can look at mine if you haven't looked at one before.

No regrets here.

SpiderX, if you do get the Black/Black, please consider having the clear bra installed. You will not regret it! I wish I had done so, as from all my roadtrips, Wanda's got many chips in her bonnet.

Good luck with your decision!

I am still cutious but I went for a nice drive in the country and my car is really running nice right now. I may have finally gotten it "right." All the mods seem to have come together. I still want more but that is my nature.

I really do want to drive one and get a feel for the performance

Just picked up my 05 B/B MCS with JCW engine and brake kits last week. My son has an 03 MCS and can't believe the positive difference. This is while still in the break in period on mine. Only thing I will change asap are the wheels and tires since the run flats drive me crazy.
All in all, this is a true blast and my last three cars were a worked TT, 04 Volvo S60R and a MB CLK 55. None slouches but none as much fun.
I agree with the clear bra but just can't find an installer close yet.

With all my mods working so well right now I am wondering if there is a performance advantage. The gearbox seems to be what everyone is talking about. What is the torque of the JCW kit?
