Anybody know where I can find OE R53 JCW Rear Shocks?

Like the post title states, anybody have a source for new R53 JCW rear shocks? 33526768412

I would even take a set of new 2006 JCW GP shocks if anybody has a set. Part number 33506776199

Anything would help as I have no options at this point.

Let me know guys, thank you.

Got a set I just took off two days ago. 2006 R52 JCW. shocks are fine, no leaks. The yellow rubber bumpers were bad and I re used the stock springs so I have two OEM shocks and a set of new springs that came with the replacement shocks.

Is there a specific reason you want OEM shocks? I would just get a set of Bilstein B6 and enjoy the upgrade.

DFTR, Super helpful, thank you for the fast post. I am looking for new parts, not used. But thank you for offering.

I swear you must work for Bilstein, LOL.

Who actually makes the JCW shocks?

I don't, but I believe they make a good product. Also, considering the options for replacement shocks, I believe they are the best option. Other might disagree and tell you to go Koni, but I've had nothing but issue with their build quality.

OK good to know.

Not looking for anything but the OE R53 JCW shock, so no idea who makes them?

I'll ask again, why are you intent on OEM shocks? You can get better quality for less cost going with aftermarket.

The GP shocks won't fit in the rear unless you have the aluminum trailing arm conversion. The factory JCW cars came with the same suspension as the S cars, so those will be the same part number. The only shocks that seem to be not available would be the JCW suspension retrofit kit shocks.

So OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, I am looking for OE Original Equipment, bit of a difference there.

Thanks for the input though, if you do indeed have a source that has a set of 33506776199 please forward it. Much appreciated.

Delphi makes them I can pull the number off mine but they are R52 JCW. That said, probably the same shock, different spring as a R53JCW. These came off my 2006 R52 JCW.

Thanks for the pictures, love how the 2nd one says made in UK and made in Spain, bit of an identity crisis there.

So the shock I am looking for has a different part number, your post pictures show a sport series shock, not a JCW . Side note, they are actually made by the same company, just found out Delphi makes the OE JCW shocks too.

A lot of the first gen JCW suspension parts started going NLA a few years ago. For example, there are six different JCW spring P/Ns, but it looks like only two are still available new from the dealer. Unless you can find dampers that somebody forgot about on a shelf, I suspect you're SOL, unfortunately.

I suspect your best bet is to go aftermarket like @njaremka said.

Thanks for tuning in ECS. Wrong shock though, that is a sport suspension strut, I am looking for 33526768412 or 33506776199 (both are actual JCW shocks.).

I guess I am hoping some one has a set on a shelf they will sell me or know of a guy who does. Either way this is the place that people who know these things hang out, so It may just happen.

Again, thanks for chiming in ECS, ironically you have what I need listed here:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...h/33506776199/

Can you actually get them?

^^^ OK, then with that clarified, is your current plan (ref: It's 2022, not 2005..." thread topic) to replicate the JCW Sport Suspension kit (including "red" coil springs) except with OEM GP shocks? As has already been stated, that JCW kit utilized standard S-spec Sport shocks rather than the subsequent unique GP shocks, with those "reds" also being part of the GP suspension pkg? And if so, ideally with OEM GP shocks vs Koni Sport "Yellow" or other aftermarket options? IMO, it's helpful to clarify your objectives...

Aren't those just the normal cabrio struts?

Whoops, I didn't reload to see replies before I replied.

@MCS4FUN The JCW suspension kit did use different struts.

Wow, that was shady!

In the last 24 hours since posted, the sponsor of this forum raised the price of the shocks I posted in my reply to them by nearly $100 each.

Just Wow. This is my last post guys. Thanks for the help and take care.

Still not sure what it is you're after...

Are you doing an original equipment restoration rebuild on a GP?

MINI just informed us the price went up when we emailed them on stock double check as these are more rare then the standard Cooper S shocks, These prices have been jumping a lot on things due to supplier costs. I have seen some items on GP3 MINI Models double overnight then change back the next month.

Some other sites dont update that quick, You can call into our team and they can adjust the price for you in the short term. Just let them know.

IIRC from a conversation I had with @t-w from another thread, he has an R52S with the full JCW suspension. I thought that package wasn't supposed to be retrofitted to the cabrio, but I believe he said he's the original owner and he bought it that way (please correct me if I'm misremembering). So I'm pretty sure he's looking for what are essentially the R53 JCW rear struts (not the stock sport plus ones) to replace his original struts. Also not the GP struts, because those are for the updated trailing arms that have a different... washer? I guess that's what you'd call it? You can see it in the photo that Oldboy posted.

Might have been quicker in this thread to just explain what he was looking to do....

I stand by my recommendation to just get a full set of Bilstein B6 and be done with it.

Whoops, I did a little post creeping and realized I was wrong about the R52S and original owner bit. I was thinking of another member. But the rest still stands. I'm pretty sure he's just wanting to replace like for like on the JCW suspension package.
