2019 JCW: 215 to 225 tires need spacers?

I'm running 18x8 wheels on my 2019 JCW with 215/40 tires. I'd like to switch to 225/40 or 225/45 but think I need some spacers to clear the suspension, especially in front.

Can anyone confirm, and suggest spacer size? I'm not looking for wheel poke, just something to allow the wider tire to clear the suspension & not rub.

TIA!

I ran 225/35R18 and 225/40R18 on my previous JCW without the need for spacers.

There are a bunch of people running 225 wheels who posted in the JCW aftermarket wheels thread under 3rd Gen JCW Garage. Above is one who is running Enkei wheels, but different model than yours. You may be able to send PM to a few of these guys.

I kind of have the same question. I'm about to order rims for mine, and I'm going with the nm RSe12's that are 18 x 7.5 wide rims. Not sure if I can go up to 225 or not with those. Somewhere on here I read that the Pilot tires are a bit wider at the tread by just a hair, and may be more problematic if it's a super tight clearance.

I'll be watching this thread for responses. Not sure if it would get more attention in the other thread or not.

You might be able to reach out to the company you purchased the wheels from and see if they can reach out to Enkei regarding your question.

I bought my tires mounted on the Enkeis from Tire Rack, but they don't discuss spacers for liability reasons. ECS Tuning referred me to Ftiment Industries, which was a huge help. I found my answer: 10mm spacers all around. My Enkeis are hub-centric, and per ECS 10mm is this smallest size of hub-centric spacer.

I found a really close setup : 2019 JCW, 18x8 with 45mm offset (same as my TS-10s, just BBS) so I think I'll go with 10mm all around. You might check Fitment Industries to see if it helps.

Hope this helps & good luck!

running Neuspeed 18x7.5 rims, spacers & sumitomo 215s. corners like a bat, see no reason to go bigger than 215. I don't invite fitment issues
